Re: scary steering issue

check wish bone bushes; track rod ends etc. there is play there but actually if the steering wheel stays straight its probably wishbone related.

as you've said i doubt 4 wheel alignment will help. do that at the end as you may need to take bits off that require alignment afterwards anyway.

Re: I GIVE UP!

the very top layer of paint is oxidised; you cannot wax and hope the finish stays. you need to get rid of the top layer so compounding (G3/3m Fast cut/Tcut etc) has to be done first; the finish after this step should be spot on. then you want to use a polish with some fillers in; then seal that with...

Re: I GIVE UP!

thing with DA's is that yes they are good but then when you use a rotary its just so much better. you are best learning on a rotary in my opinion. now all top coats are different, some being scratch resistant and hence tough to cut and buff. some being softer and glossier. however you have to genera...

Re: I GIVE UP!

200 grit wet and dry (wet) rotary rubbing compound rotary polish rotary/hand wax i did a thread on it a while back im sure you meant 2000 grit but for oxidised paint 2500 is fine too; heck even 3000. the higher the grade the easier it is to buff. in reality you shouldnt need to wet sand as that is ...

Re: You can keep MW3.....this will rock!!

Not if you actually want some realistic war games it wont! MW2 is excellent but SO arcade like! ](*,) have you played Flashpoint (dragon rising)? now that sh!t is realistic; too realistic and why it was so bad to play. MW is a bit on the arcade side but that is what keeps it interesting. the guys t...

Re: suspension trouble

is it the centre bolt? there is a large washer/spacer that sits between the mount and the bolt.

take it off and see if its there? compare with the other side though.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Snow = bump

best take a pic of underneath if you can so we can see suspension components.... i doubt the wheel is that bent to give that +camber effect?

can adjust crash bolts but best checking no suspension comps are bent (track rods, wishbone, droplinks etc)....

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Has my turbo blown ?

that oil looks to be leaking onto turbo.

if it boost okay at times then most likely your turbo is fine. can probably discount collapsed cats & exhaust side too. if there is no boost leak you need to look at fuelling next & wastegate etc.

Re: Spare Engine connectors near alternator

i dont think it has anything to do with the fan; my thoughts were that when the battery doesnt have enough juice the engine bay fan light lights up first.... later followed by the power steering if being driven. bro had this problem on his car (reverse switch faulty hence no battery charge; his PS &...

Re: HIDS for the 2

im not a 100% but i always thought HIDS have to be fitted to a car that firstly has projector lenses and hence a sharp cut off and also self levelling headlights.... otherwise they are not technically legal. this is where a friendly MOT station comes in handy. also if you dazzle a traffic cop then y...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] grill mesh

on the topic of meshes (sorry for the Hi-jack bud), i want a decent plastic mesh like they use on new cars; ive never liked the ally stuff as it bends too easily.

local Halfrauds dont have it so any ideas on where i could get some?
