Ian,

A very well worded post, and as you state, all from your personal experience.

I've had no dealings whatsoever with sBits, but Fensport suffered a similar fate a couple of years ago. Adrian was simply taking on far to much work for his then team to handle. As a result, phone lines were constantly engaged and you simply couldn't get through.

Thankfully now he's employed more staff and the issue no longer occurs (except of course for the odd occasion when people are off sick etc).

The moral of the story is, don't be too greedy!! Take on a sensible work load, and concentrate 100% on customer care/attention.

Ian - I agree with your well worded post. Fair and to the point. I will ensure peter is reminded of this and it will be sorted.

GEE MAN , hows the cc doing mate - keping the temps down i hope. I also agree with your points.

Peter is too eager to help everyone, which is an arkward situation!

When you call for advice, he gives it in his indepth way to best help you - this however takes him away from the workshop and the specific job at hand.

I suppose a good way would be for him to only answer voicemails and then only at dinnertime and after workshop hours.

I have been with peter when we have worked till past midnight to get work done - people want their jobs done, simple.

I dont think peter spends much time on the forums anymore due to time constraints etc.

I will do my best to highlight these specific issues to him.

i have been speaking to peter fairly regularly about my turbo, (well still nisnos's at the mo,) but everytime he rings me and tell me someting is happening it gets done simple as. i know he is a very busy man and it might take time but it is the quality i care about, would you rather have a company just rushing stuff out not caring??? i just dont want to see him burn out as he know just about everything about 2's :thumleft:

Pug-Performance did a similar thing around seven years ago and it badly damaged their reputation, they were suffering as they were rushing jobs and there was a lot of last minute work being done that wasn't up to scratch. Again it was because they didn't want to let people down and took on more than they could handle.

I've ordered a few things off him in the past - up to 3/4 months ago - and have always had A1 service from him. However it appears he is in the process of suffering the same fate as Dave at Neos Designs with lack of communcation and possibly organisation?

Everyone be very careful ordering frontball joints.

If they are soucred from either CAMSKILL or FUNKYPRODUCT / FUNKY STYLING

As they are 2 different types. Both have the same part number, but one doesn't fit.

I've told them this numerous times, everytime they said there's no problem, sent a few back and STILL waiting for the correct ones. Nightmare.

If they deem an item worthy of their investigation then they can hold that item until they are satisfied.

Now, they have huge huge huge holding areas (bonded warehouses) where they store all this stuff whilst pending the outcome of their investigations.

One of the batches of DP's has been "LOST" by C&E in one of these warehouses hence the delay.

Customs & Excise are a bleedin' law unto themselves, they have more 'authority' than the police apparently...or so I was told.. :pale:

People not getting back to you is annoying - just like you never got back to me about the crank

Emails never work, a phone call is a must, just a shame that's not working either :(

bottom line is,if the export/import paperwork is in order, then customs have no need to "investigate" downpipe shipments ,
downpipes ffs,not parts for a gerard bull superweapon.

not true! i work for an alloy wheel company and we import all our wheels from taiwan and china. i know all our paperwork is correct everytime and even then we have had stuff impounded for no reason other than checking the containers which takes about a month!!!!!!!!!!!!! so if they have impounded it, it might come very late. also we have had stuff go missing from them. customs people suck hard ](*,)

true; we have a container thats in a bonded warehouse waiting to be x-rayed.... its been a blimmin week already, we (as in the company i work for) have to pay for the x-ray and any storage charges the port charges.

all paperwork correct & the V&D has already been paid.

they're not always looking for super weapons as such; they do random checks to make sure what you say you have is whats in there and nothing else.... cant get any answer from customs; they just dont pick up ](*,)

A bit OT but I just hope that nothing from a certain budget tuning company gets checked then - the strut braces I got recently were described on the attached paperwork as:

"1 REFURBISHED DIESEL DEMO TEST PIPE/MANIFOLD FOR EVALUATION AND TEST FITMENT - RECHROMED DEMO TEST - NOT FOR RESALE"

I'm happy to pay VAT etc on import goods, but this was an ebay item that was supposed to already be in the UK. I was listed as the importer so would have been stung for the taxes/penalties if it had been checked.
