personally i wouldnt do it unless you have projector lens installed otherwise you will get alot of light scatter and blind other motorists

6k
high and low level
raybrig lenses
I have low level in mine so it means I don't have full beam which is a bu88er

Seems like hassle IMO.
HIDs are a bug bear for me, most newer cars I find dazzle me as their self levelling systems dont work properly, and no retrofit HIDs for the MR2 even have a levelling system.

Did you have to mod the N/A to get the raybrigs to fit. Is there a special name to get the high and low level version?. Would you be able to take photos of them ?
Re: HIDS for the 2
I've only got low level so no idea, but I know you would need high and low.
As for the brigs, they were straight swap.
Couldn't really tell the difference between the standard lenses tbh.
They just look cleaner and the reflector looks different but on driving about I couldn't tell.
No pics im affraid as cars having its heart swapped right now

something like rogue quads as they have a projector lens with a sharp cut off.
Re: HIDS for the 2
some people have been saying that if you have a N/A you will have to mod the headlights to fit raybrigg headlights is this right ?
Re: HIDS for the 2
I think you'll need bi-xenon kit for high/low., also raybrig lens wont make difference in terms of glare dazzling oncoming traffic.
It could be done with the standard lens also.
As for where to get them ebay has tons just get the chinese ones from someone with good feedback, they seem to work fine for most people.
or you could pay more and go to hid4u, think its same product but uk based.

so i could use the standard lens with HIDS in ?
Re: HIDS for the 2
Dont see why not
Re: HIDS for the 2
I think its a h4 bi-xenon kit you'll need but wait for someone to confirm the h4 bit

yeah I think the mr2 is H4!
Re: HIDS for the 2
I can confirm that you need H4 bixenon HID bulbs for Mk2 MR2. I fitted the Ultimate Pro kit from HIDS4U. They are a UK based company in Southampton and they offer 2 year warranty on the bulbs and ballasts.
If your original H4 bulbs are set at the right level, the HID bulbs are a direct replacement and should not be a MOT failure. I've never failed MOT on my HID bulbs as long as you settle for white beam (at 6000K) and you set the levels correctly. Please not that blue lights will fail the MOT. Only pure white LED bulbs and HID kits will pass..

Re: HIDS for the 2
im not a 100% but i always thought HIDS have to be fitted to a car that firstly has projector lenses and hence a sharp cut off and also self levelling headlights.... otherwise they are not technically legal.
this is where a friendly MOT station comes in handy.
also if you dazzle a traffic cop then you will get stopped..... they know hids on old cars = illegal install.

Re: HIDS for the 2
Yeah thats true, to be legal you have to have headlight washers, projector lens and self levelling suspension.
Its hit and miss with mot, but at 6k you should be ok.
with normal headlights i would just get philips x-treme power bulbs, hids in normal lens would cause insane light scatter i would imagine.
