it is.
Tho this one only took took week and half to get to me from berk technology.
Other Company I had been waiting 3months to either get the part or a refund.
Bit of a nightmare.

Anyway, jj, or anyone, you think I should be looking at replacing the fuel pump next and fuel filter?? Am not sure what else to try!!

Interesting.

It really only leaves fueling or electrical issues now.

Was you car Completely undrivable???
I've swapped in another rail with injectors, so my
fpr has to be ok, unless I got 2 duff ones which is unlikely!

I think I really need to be looking at fuel pump now, and replacing fuel filter to.

I've just got ig timing to check then fuel now!

Woo!!!

Yep, would idle fine but died under any kind of load. Couldn't even put the throttle all the way down without it dieing. Have you checked your fuel pressure? There's a guide in the ST205 BGB.

I know about the celicatech website that's got some st205 manual on there, however I can't find anything to do with testing fuel pressure, or about changing a fuel pump.

Care to point me to any direct links??

Thanks

am slowly leaning towards either fuel pump issues or wiring to fuel pump.
Hopefully getting close.

Step by Step guide to removing the fuel tank/pump.........Unfortunately one of those jobs there is no short cut.....and I would'nt fancy trying to cut up the bit underneath the armrest.

ok update

fitted fuel filter

thought id update with a few new videos, i warmed car up before taking these vids (warmed up at idle obviously)

ok this is to show it idles fine and small revs its ok

Image

to show when i flick it to WOT it starts to die, and when i release the throttle it picks up again to idle. you can hear it quieten then pick up again once throttle is shut

Image

to show slight revs it miss fires....

Image

if i go to WOT and keep it planted, it just cuts straight out.

Jim do you have a fuel pressure guage? Why dont you connect one up and see how much fuel pressure you actually have? It could be as suggested a fuel pump on its way out or blockage. What do you think? Can you plug your laptop into the powerfc or anthing to datalog all the sensors and try to find out what is going on when you try to increase the revs?

I do suspect fuel pump, or wiring for that part of car, be it resistor or relay or something.
Yep i had planned next a fuel pressure gauge, see what's going on.
Need to find out what I need to buy for that exactly and how best to install it.

I got Ryan at 2bar coming over this week anyway, so he'll be plugging in his laptop to my new powerfc and seeing what's going on. Hopefully he'll be able to tell me if it's wiring.

someone give me an idea if using a fuel pressure setup like this would work and tell me whats going on?

i should easily be able to hook this up to the return line from the rail as the hose from the metal piping is clipped on isn it??
or should this be fitted BEFORE the fuel rail?? ie i dont really have access to this fuel line cause its all closed...

i asume INto the fuel rail is the line with the banjo bolt, and OUT the rail is the one from the FPR??? so ok to hook up on the OUT side of the rail?
still should tell me pressure right??

Jim you need something like the above to feed into the fuel feed line at the inlet to the fuel rail, then use something like that fuel pressure gauge on the 8mm outlet. :thumleft:

Have you looked at the BGB for help?

http://www.mr2-tech.com/bgb/mechanical/ ... system.htm

Look under "Fuel System" then "fuel pump" schroll down a bit and shows all the wiring diags. and checks for fuel pressure.

Come on man course I've been looking at the bgb, lol.
The st205 one I've been getting most of my resistance spec tests from.
The usdm gen2 is a little better for replacing parts, but resistance specs is a little different to gen3s.

I decided to go ahead with the kit I linked to, less grief, all in one kit, just mean cutting one of the fuel lines from filter to banjo bolt
(inlet side)

your link lewis looks like you'd only be able to fit one banjo on there? Surely it has to have room for the test gauge adapter one AND the stock banjo. Otherwise the rail won't get any fuel.

Hopefully this will tell me something!!!

stock, ive tired 2 different rails with 2 different stock FPR so its unlikely both are busted..

Toyota make a SST for checking the pressure. It bolts on top of the fuel filter outlet.

Still sounds like a pump to me!

Checked your vid's BTW, they're exactly the same as my engine and I KNOW my problem is fuel related as the fuel pressure is 10-20psi base and it should be 36psi at least!

ok had a ryan at 2bar round, checked everything we could check on the power fc.
all good there

my fuel pressure gauge didnt turn up so that was annoying, so cant test fuel pressure at the mo.

anyway we removed the fuel filter and the pump was pumping out 4ltrs of fuel a minute when bridged, so it would suggest its pumping out 250+ltrs an hour like most aftermarket pumps.

pulled the return line off the rail after fitting back together, bridged fp/b+ and NO fuel was being pumped back to the tank!!!

does this suggest the pump isnt creating enough pressure to open the FPR as its ment to return fuel back to the tank?
its either pump or the small 4inch hose going from the pump hooking to the tank has split or corroded and cant push enough fuel round when it needs higher pressure, ie when when load is placed on the car as fuel is leaking past the hose in the tank???
that was ryans suggestion.

so next task is to replace the pump with a new walbro, its been suggested there is probably a huge bosch pump in there due to the noise it makes. its probably a 300+ltr pump. sounds the same as the phoenix power cars hes mapped he said. it is crazy loud, lol!

is fuel pump definatly the next thing on my list to change??? before i go buying a pump and spending the day changing it id just like another confirmation really.

test injectors

come across a similar problem (diff car though) and it was the ignition pump.... costly!
