Re: Donnington Tuesday 17th October

A BAT instructor was telling a slower driver not to overtake?!?! A BAT instructor, Howard i think, was telling him to ignore everyone else and concentrate on his own driving. Hence not letting people past. The BAT instructor i had, can't remember his name but he was very good, was very good at watc...

Re: Donnington Tuesday 17th October

i sat behind him for 3 laps, flashing headlights and everything That sort of behaviour would have you hung drawn and quartered surely on a BAT day? it was a bookatrack day. In the briefing, bookatrack state that flashing headlights is not conisdered agressive, rather a 'i don't think you've seen me...

Re: Donnington Tuesday 17th October

i had a few of those moment too. The red one was driven by a girl who had never been on the track before and was quite intimidated, but she got the hang of it and improved a lot. The biggest problem i had was with a grey vx220 turbo who kept holding me up. i sat behind him for 3 laps, flashing headl...

Re: Donnington Tuesday 17th October

Doh! I saw the car listed as a toyota mk2 on the bookatrack site and assumed it was mk2 mr2 as opposed to anything else. I saw you on track quite a lot but didn't realise that was you! I was in the 06 registered silver s2000. I was one of about 4 in that colour so i doubt you'd have specifally notic...

i'll pop over and say hello. It'll be easier for me to spot you that you to spot me as i'll be one of about 20 S2k's Okay cool, see you there. :thumright: Didn't actually see you there lauren! i spotted a little mk1 being swallowed up by all the big fish a few times, but no mr2 turbo. Were you there?

Re: Bedford Aerodrome opinions?

They tend to let you spin at bedford without black flagging you because there is so much run off.

Did you slow down when that guy span in front of you? looked pretty close!

Re: Bedford Aerodrome opinions?

I quite like bedford, i've been there twice now. There is huge amounts of run off, but it does take a while to learn the track as its so big. there are some interesting corners, some easy, some hard, and i kept getting 'lost' on the first morning i was there when i forgot where on the track i was. b...

Re: Donnington Tuesday 17th October

Quite. The video says it all. Cheap trackdays usually include a number of people in cheap cars that really don't care if they hit anyone. I'm not refering to people who might be driving older cars or stripped out specials, but the sort of people that turn up in an old cavalier or a volvo with the ex...

http://videos.streetfire.net/search/knockhill/0/183c0a76-aad0-4f98-b60f-9841006c3234.htm is the reason why you should pay more to go on a professionally run trackday. I took my one month old s2000 to Bedford with Bookatrack and never once was concerned about other cars on the track. Conversely, a b...

Re: Donnington Tuesday 17th October

its not the quality of the track, but the quality of the marshalling and the discipline forced on the drivers by the organiser that makes the difference. You might go on a cheap day at donington and have no problems because all the drivers that attend are responsible, but when you get a few right ha...

Re: Donnington - Sunday 1st Oct - £99 (mini meet?)

come to donington on the 11th november with bookatrack. They'll be about 20 S2000's there on the the day, so could make an interesting comparison. :) A bunch of us are planning a track day around October time, currently the 15th has been suggested. Since this is the weekend before the last MR2 Chall...

Only the unbreakable Vtec engine :-$

luckily honda paid for the repalcement. I wouldn't have bought another one if i'd have had to stump up the £8k for a new one.............

Re: Mk2 MR2 GT v Honda S2000

I'm the same as Bibbs. I went from a rev2 turbo to my s2k and it was a step change. It took me a while to get used to the engine, but once you realise that you have to shift the normal driving rev range up by 2-3k revs, it feels very natural and easy to drive. The only problem is that you end up rev...

Re: Are MR2's a waste of money??

once you hit that point its time to move on. but something with similar power, NA or not, will drink similar amounts of fuel unless it is a lightweight. My S2000 has similar fuel consumption, but the handling is much better, and the brakes are much better. It is also way better around the track. Are...

You can escape the addiction, but only if you buy something you like more that you can transfer your addiction to. I loved my mk2 turbo, but i'm now on my second S2000 :)

Re: Bedford Autodrome - good first trackday, few mr2's

Bedford noise limits are lower than donington. At Donington its 98db trackside drive by. At bedford you get static tested on the way in at 3/4 revs and the limit is 101 db, then there is a drive by 20m from the track with a 87.5db limit.

Weather seems to make a big difference at Bedford.
