Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] High clutch bite (new clutch)
I adjusted that to get the amount of freeplay in the BGB spec, can I adjust it to get the correct bite even if it puts it out of spec?

[Mk2] [Turbo] High clutch bite (new clutch)
Have fitted an Exedy paddle clutch, bite point is too high, have adjusted and bled, made no difference.
When refitting the clutch slave cylinder, I had to push the cylinder into the bore to get it in place, does this mean the push rod is too long?

Run a die down the rod then you can secure it with a pair of nuts.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] water pump differences rev2/ rev3
It does affect the tension, to the extent I couldn't get the belt to sit correctly over the cam pulleys while having no slack from exhaust pulley to crank.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] water pump differences rev2/ rev3
I had the same problem with a cheap pattern water pump.
It wouldn't time correctly. Pulley had 23 teeth, bought a genuine pump, it has 22 and it timed fine with that.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Number of teeth on Rev 2 turbo timing belt, water pump, and oil pump?
Thanks, my belt is correct then.
But the new water pump has 23 teeth, whereas the old one has 22, so I must have been sent the wrong one.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Rear engine mount size? Powerflex bush too small
Got Powerflex front and rear engine mounts. Front is 83.5mm and fits but the rear one is 79mm and is too small. Rear mount measures 83.5mm.
Is there more than one size of rear mount? I thought only the front was different sizes.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] 3 pin plug on alternator - 0v on one pin - where does wire go?
My problem wasn't with the wiring, I had forgotten to disarm the imob. after switching on ignition when testing the wire and as such there was no voltage because imob. cut it.
Problem was the alternator rectifier.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Driveshaft support bearing stuck in carrier
As title, have taken out the rubber tipped bolt and the retaining clip, according to engine removal guides I read it should then slide out of carrier no bother. I had to unbolt the support from the block to pull shaft from gearbox. Bearing has a fair bit of play in it so I want to change it - am I m...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Paddle clutches - which one to get?
Are the solid ones not even harsher on the road? Thought it would be OK if I got a good one.
I want a paddle clutch as I like to do standing starts, didn't think the standard clutch lasts long with these? Im running 250whp if im lucky.

Cheers not seen that before.
Do you know how many miles/hours I should use mineral oil for before I change to synthetic? Or is that a preference thing like break in?

[Mk2] [Turbo] Paddle clutches - which one to get?
After a paddle clutch for my Rev 2, preferably a 6 paddle as its for road use. Want to avoid the cheap ebay ones as I imagine they're not up to much. Was looking at the Helix one on Fensport, but they say it has to be used with the modified or uprated clutch cover and with a new bearing its over £40...
