[Mk2] [Turbo] Gearbox drain and fill plugs

I've got them mixed up! Which is which or doesn't it matter? The only difference seems to be that one of them has got a flange.



P.S. Yes I have got new crush washers for them.

Neither of mine have a flange - are you sure it's not the washer stuck in place?

I wondered that, but the washer came off separately and the flange doesn't budge - it's also a wider diameter than the washer.

From memory they are both the same, as above- I reckon the flange is an old washer that has become one with the bolt! As long as you have the right washers I can't see it making any difference which way you install them

I think you're right.

New problem - the drain plug has stripped the thread inside the gearbox! I've managed to get it in but it's not super tight.

PTFE tape...

Iirc the wider of the two is the fill

I've put some silicone round it. Fingers crossed...
