Re: 3S-GTE running strange
Did you change the rotor arm when you put in a new distributor cap? I always found the 3SGTE especially fussy about ignition parts

Re: How much is this worth?
Harold, just a FYI- the lambda sensor in the downpipe is a wideband which this was running and feeding the standard ECU. So unless you had James replace it with a standard narrow band sensor the car will currently be running without a lambda sensor...

[Mk2] [Generic] 205 profile front tyres on standard wheels?
Does anyone know if you can fit 205/50/15 tyres (Rather than 195/55/15) on the front rims without fouling the standard shocks or do you need a spacer to clear?

Re: R888's for road use?
I love them on the road! They're noisy in use, and when you're using them in cold conditions you really have to work them to get any heat in so they grip- when they're cold they're rubbish! Recently i tried them in the snow and it was hopeless! I've got 255/40/17 on the back and I couldnt get out of...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Coolent level dropping?
I think its because the coolant finds its own level between the filler neck and the expansion bottle- so fluid that you put into the filler neck will 'level' out to the same level in the expansion bottle.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Procedure for Replacing the Thermostat
If you read the BGB it'll tell you to remove the AC compressor but this isnt necessary, removing the engine hanger hook helps and you'll need to take off the intake air pipes and unbolt the dipstick and swing it out of the way. You'll loose about 2-3 litres of coolant when you take the thermostat ou...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Strange coolant temp problem
Not been around on here for a while so hi all! Backgound; i've got a stack system in my car which senses coolant temperature with a sensor probe tapped into the coolant neck bolted to the engine (Not the one with the thermostat in, the one on the other side of the engine where the standard coolant s...

Re: Pops and Bangs
Yes mine pops and bangs on the overrun. MR2 Turbo engines drip some unburnt fuel in to the cylinders when you shut off the gas to keep the fuelling primed to prevent lag (not turbo) when you go back on the gas. The result is that the when the turbo gets warm this unburnt fuel ignites on the turbo v...

Eye bolts into the firewall are easier than a harness bar to attach your harnesses to.
A decent bucket seat is IMO a great upgrade to any car, i have a sparco evo and i love it- best upgrade on my car i reckon.

Sticking calipers- warped discs are a common cause of steering wheel vibration.

Re: goodyear Eagle f1's?
Goodyear are discontinuing all their F1 GSD3 tyres. They are replacing them with the F1 assymetric. However i think they are cutting down on the sizes they offer, i know they dont offer 245/35/17 anymore.. as for other sizes i'm not sure.

With regards to the Tein front drop links you can use the Toyota Avensis ones from camskill. Have bought a set for my Tein flex, yet to fit them tho. Its in the Knowledge base on this site :thumleft: Also, I'm no suspension expert but imho if you are running coilovers I think uprated arb's are over...
