Re: [Mk2] [NA] noisy window motor
If the original motor was burnt out then there is usually a reason why it burnt out in the first place Sounds like a sticky relay/regulator issue, there is a small electric windows relay/regulator mounted some where that shuts power to the electric windows when they fully close or open, it sounds li...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] starter problem
You sure the screeching noise ain't the fan belt slipping? I have never heard a starter motor screech before. Could be the kick solenoid not letting the starter cog retract after engine start, which means the starter is jammed out and being rotated via the engine when its running, this will give y...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Stroker build problems: head off, found movement in pistons, excessive? help need
Over fuelling and excessive oil usage could be a symptom of so many other things, the engine would smoke if valves stem seals where leaking and you would also get smoke if piston rings were worn or not honed in properly, I had a car once with worn valve stem seals it would smoke constantly and be aw...

Re: Its bye bye MR2 :o( .........................for the winter :D
Mine stays on the road all the time, it never does a car any good being laid up for months on end with no action engines bloody hate it it's the quickest way to shag an engine especially if you live in a real cold damp area :| , its not to bad if you keep cranking oil around the engine every week o...

Re: leeking coolant
If its at the rear of the car then check the rubber hoses coming off the main radiator pipes that run underneath the car, next check the rubber hoses that come off of the heater pipes, all these pipes are located at the rear of the engine, chances are you may have a split etc, if no leak can be fou...

Dizzy cap, leads and plugs is the first area id look into. Had this problem for ages :-k , turned out to be ignition leads even though when I tested them they "appeared to be ok :-k ", my car is coming up 20 years old and the leads were original factory Toyota leads lol year of manufactur...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Just failed MOT, some questions..
That mot looked very similar to one I was issued when I first had my 2 Break imbalance would mean one brake isnt braking as hard as the other, you can get this problem for a few miles when you have just fitted new pads, you can carry this imbalance test on a open quiet straight road, go up the road...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Annoying radio buzz / whinning noise (updated FIXED!)
Problem solved turned out to be iso wiring loom, I made some alterations to the loom, the reason why it came back was due to the Kenwood inline power suppressor had gone, but I thought there must be a way round this because suppressors only mask an existing problem so I downloaded a complete set of ...

A warn clutch wouldnt make it pop out of gear though :-k , it would make it hard to get into gear though if the shock springs in the clutch plate were warn then all gears would be hard to select, Sounds more like a syncro ring to me :( especially if its popping out under load, quite common on the ...

Ian Thanks for the replies guys 8) Well I put in a new set of plugs last year NGK...
