Re: [FINALIZED] 1997 UK T-bar Goodwood needing alt - £1700 - with Kenwood satnav, sub, amp

Looks like a great car, I'm waiting on the insurance company to let me know what they're going to do with mine as some bint drove into the side of it on Saturday. If they refuse to fix her and make a settlement offer I may well be in touch and see what we can agree :)

Re: London run 4th november

Pending recovery and/or fallout from a party Saturday night I might come along Sunday.

I take it that it's OK to just turn up in the 2 and join in the fun on the day. :)

Re: [Mk2] [NA] really poor fuel economy

The last time I had a significant drop in fuel economy it was due to binding brake calibers. After you've been out and about check for excess heat from the calibers, as that is the easiest indication that something isn't right...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] please please help stereo grief

If someone can indicate which is which wire that would be handy for me, I had a new stereo fitted to mine and since then the battery runs down if I leave her unused for more than 4 days.... Easy answer, go back and get them to check the work, unfortunately the Jap car specialist has now left and has...

Re: For Sale - Red SW20 MR2 GT-S T bar Turbo Rev3 1994 - No engine modifications

Thankfully (or not depending on how you look at it), depsite extensive front & rear damage the insurance company are currently in the process of putting my 2 back on the road after a long chat with the assessor this morning. Apparently it was touch and go due to the mileage, but work done & ...

Re: For Sale - Red SW20 MR2 GT-S T bar Turbo Rev3 1994 - No engine modifications

After having some muppet drive into the back of me yesterday I'm waiting to see what the insurance company says. So if it's bad news for me I may be in touch, will let you know once I know.

Would love to take it off your hands, not sure I can put the funds together at the moment though.
Have started to think it's time I moved up to a tubby :D, if can find the cash I'll give you a shout otherwise it will be a while longer for me to enjoy a tubby.

Re: warning lights

Sounds like the same problem I have with mine, it's been suggested that the alternator is knackered.
I was hoping somebody here could let me know, she's now booked into the garage for Tuesday, so will let you know what they say when I get her back.

Cooling Fan, Charge and Brake light stay on

Hi, I started the car (Mk2 Rev 3 NA) up last night, had a noise akin to slipping fan belt and the Cooling Fan, Battery (Dis)Charge and Brake Lights stayed on... I've checked all the fuses and they all seem fine, the fan belt noise stopped almost instantly and there was a slight burning smell, but no...

Re: London Owners! Cheer the HELL UP!

Only just moved here and I noticed the same thing, couple of Black Rev 2s around the corner from me, so far I've never seen them smile or had them wave/flash back as I've driven past them...

[All Generic] Loads in Twickenham

Having just moved to Twickenham, the first thing (other than the stadium next door) I noticed was the number of 2's around the place.

Anyone here?

Re: MR2's in Portsmouth Dockyard

I'm around this area as well, spend most of the time the other side of the water in Gosport. But have been known to visit the dockyard. I've got a White Rev 3 N/A :)

I've made it to a S'oton based meet, and if I'm free for the next local one I'll head towards that one as well. :D

Re: VED tax - budget changes

Sorry if showing complete ignorance here, but will it not also depend on the condition of the engine, how well its been maintained etc? While that is the logical way to look at such things, the tax band your car sits in depends on the figure shown on your log book and as far as I'm aware DVLA refer...

I've had a quick look around and can't really find any reliable figures (will check manual later at home), but I have found the following. Mk III 178g/km Mk II GT 96> 216g/km Not sure how accurate the Mk II figure is, everything is either not available or vague about cars pre 2001. Hopefully someone...

Re: 150,000 miles - too many??

You really shouldn't have a problem providing its been looked after. My NA has done 183,500 miles now of which just over 101,000 are mine :D

She just goes in to the garage when anything needs doing without any delay, costs a bit but certainly worth it.

Re: the M27

I generally wave at other 2s, but I don't remember you. I also noticed a new dark blue rover being used as an unmarked on the M27 last Friday night. Luckily he was more interested in the Audi screaming up the outside lane than me. :D
