Im contemplating coming on this (if you will all have another newbie amongst you) but I have a couple of questions,

Are we talking about a "steady" drive here or full on flat out fast pace fun?
Im only asking as being in an Import N/A I am not gonna be able to keep up with you turbo boys and I hate driving round London at the best of times so dont want to get left behind in an unfamilar area to try and have to find my way back out again.

If I do come what do I need to bring with regard to food or drink etc??
How long will this take? (not that time is an issue)

Pending recovery and/or fallout from a party Saturday night I might come along Sunday.

I take it that it's OK to just turn up in the 2 and join in the fun on the day. :)

Hiya Mav,

You wont have any problem keeping up buddy, there will be a few Mk1's there, a total of 30+ MR2's, plus we'll be driving around london so I'm guessing we will be stuck in traffic alot of the time while people admire the hoard of MR2's.

With regards to what you have to bring................. You + MR2

Feel free to bring food and drink if you think you'll get hungry but I'm sure we will be stopping somewhere, where we can get something to eat (Whoozy - Is there a plan to stop to get something to eat?)

Depart ace cafe at 1200 and make our way round the A406 to hanger lane and join the A40 to edgware road where we will come off and and head for park lane.

We are going to have to change the route slightly due to road closure by big ben,so instead of going down the millbank we will go around the round about then across westminster bridge(we only cut out a small part of the run)
The other regroup points will be in belvedere rd next to the london eye

Trafalgar way on the isle of dogs.

and the finishing point will be on victoria embankment near westminster bridge.

These changes are due to new road works.

We can still use the origanl maps as changes are not mager and just show everyone on the day. I will not be in an mr2 but a slow ass corrola

Great meet...
But what route did you lot take from the west end to surrey quays?
I only saw fleeting glimpses of other MR2's (Often heading in the opposite direction Doh! #-o)

hi all, did I or did i not see this convoy pass through the surrey quays area of london? I saw all you guys behind me in the right lane I was going straight...in my red mk1.

Shame, if I had been on here a bit more often lately I would have come!

Post by Mad-Mark-UK »

Big thanks to the people who sorted out this great day, well worth coming and I will do next time, I didnt see many imoc stickers and as I have only been to a few of these runs before so sorry if I did not speak to many people but the ones I did were great.

Big pat on the back to whoozy for sorting out such a great run today.
Many Thanks

Sorry I didnt make this afterall but due to getting heavily rear ended in my work van on Thursday I had to see how my back was this morning, sadly I could barely move when I got up so no chance of driving today.
Hope to make the next one though.
