Cooling Fan, Charge and Brake light stay on

Hi,

I started the car (Mk2 Rev 3 NA) up last night, had a noise akin to slipping fan belt and the Cooling Fan, Battery (Dis)Charge and Brake Lights stayed on...

I've checked all the fuses and they all seem fine, the fan belt noise stopped almost instantly and there was a slight burning smell, but nothing since.

Anyone able to tell me what the problem is likely to be?

your altenator check this and the belt on it...most likely the issue.

All fixed, Alternator had died and taken the fan belt with it....
