wd40 is your friend but it's not working for me. I'm having similar issues in heavy down pours.

[Mk2] [NA] dial cluster issues

I'm having a few issues with the above, firstly the rev counter has been intermittent for awhile then stopped working. The cluster was removed, all the connections checked then reinstalled which solved the problem briefly, however its now not working once again. The next issue is recently I replaced...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Quad light mod problem - help

That I would think is the problem, diodes only allow electrical flow in 1 direction and prevent the circuit from being made elsewhere and bypassing the fog light. What you need to do is to install a diode with the flow facing the light fitting on the Fog Live (green with orange stripe wire) and ano...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Quad light mod problem - help

There were no diodes that's for sure, just spade connectors in the wiring on the passenger side inner fog. Also with fog switch on i don't have fog lights, so guess i need to see whats on the end of the switch :-k

I'll get some picks up tomorrow & update.

[Mk2] [NA] Quad light mod problem - help

Anyone here done the quad light mod before? just noticed a problem with my rev1 uk clusters. When the lights are on all four lights illuminate as they should, but with brake pressed i have no brake light in the inner drivers fog. I checked the bulbs & swapped with passenger inner fog but still n...

I'm assuming a compression test would rule it out completely? ill be getting a pressure test tomorrow.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] help

UPDATE: Looking like i don't have head gasket failure. A sniff test was done today & that was clear, the car still has coolant, took it for a drive no smoke, no obvious loss of power & idles fine, could have been i thought it was my car making smoke but possible i was mistaken  However ...

[Mk2] [NA] help

I'll go through a bit of brief history, back in January i had a burst water hose which resulted in high engine temp & loss of all my coolant. The hose was replaced, system was flushed, bled properly with new coolant, heaters were warm & all appeared to be running normally albeit in between s...

[Mk2] [NA] my n/a stuttering in wet weather

I'm having running issues with my mr2 in all the rain we've been having. I have no problems at all in dry conditions, but tonight i took it out of hiding after two weeks off the road & it was stuttering under low revs, at junctions, or red lights. At one point it cut out all together before i go...

Re: burst water pipe - lost engine coolant

You'll have to be more specific.

What's actually damaged? A pipe? A hose? Which pipe or hose?

Sorry its a hose that runs just above the starter motor from the block into the firewall i believe, ill get a pic up tomorrow.

burst water pipe - lost engine coolant

Ok so i was driving along & noticed the water temperature suddenly rocket, as a consequence the engine management light comes on then before i knew it, BANG. What sounded like a gunshot with steam pouring out from the engine. I was heading home at the time & was back within 2 minutes so it w...

newcomer & MR2 owner

Hi people, just a quick introduction. I bought my first MR2 two weeks ago from Weymouth but I'm familiar with Toyota's having owned a 93 Celica st182 previously. Very happy with her. Came with 12 months mot, lots of receipts & owned previously by toyota mechanic. She's a modified uk spec, 92 Rev...
