Cheers for all the advice guys! I'll be off to Birmingham to study Mechanical and Automotive Engineering. I don't really know the city at all so depending on where I live in my second year i'll have a look into insurance etc. I've been relying on a fleet policy for insurance, which works out at arou...
Well i'm hoping he takes good care of it!
I can't stand the thought of having to walk or use public transport again I thought I gave it all up when I passed my test
It was either lend it to my bro or sell it, he has promised he'll weld the rear arches up as they're a bit rusty now.
The worrying thing is, he's already talking about doing trackdays
:pale: I never thought it would come down to this! I'll be heading off to Uni this saturday and i've thought of everything to justify taking my MK1. After using it as my daily driver for 10 months and spending too much money on it, I've only got 4 days left of driving it :( I'll be lending it to my ...
Well I think I'm going to need to get mine replaced as well now. My brother was going to sort out the alignment for me today, but my arms are fused as well :( How much is a set likely to cost me with bolts etc. Can I avoid using Mr.T as my local one keeps giving me stupid quotes....(over £400 for de...
Thanks for the help!
My clutch doesnt slip and the bite point is quite high.. I'll have a check if the actual pedal is'nt adjusted right as it may not be fully engaging as jimi said.
I try and have a looksie tomorrow and will report back!
It may sound a bit strange but i'm having problems pulling away quickly! My previous tyres lost traction easily under hard acceleration from a standstill. I have had Toyo Proxes for a couple of months and they dont lose traction at all as the clutch seems to be giving way before the tyres! My first ...
Thanks for your help Lauren and Jim :D As I use my MK1 as a daily driver I think i'm going to use Jims settings as a base and try them on a track. I'll be able to try the toe out settings if the toeing in isnt working for me on the track... It's quite handy that my brothers college is based at Castl...
:D :D Thanks very much for the info Jim-SR. I really appreciate it! I will be getting my brother to tackle the job for me. I think his college has just bought a complete laser alignment kit, including a £1500 camber guage! Apparently its pretty good, just gotta see if my brother can work it! Will I ...
Cheers for the help guys. :thumleft: The TRD prep involves different springs and lower ride height though. I was wondering if the settings are the same or similar for a car with completely stock suspension?? Has anyone set up their standard car to get more oversteer? I may do some more autocross typ...
First off, I'm sorry if this has been covered! I know this is a well covered topic and I have searched but I cannot find the exact information I need so I was wondering if you guys could help :D I will be lending my brother my car on thursday to take to his college. In return he will be setti...
I had lots of trouble finding a respectable MK1.... After around 4 months of solid searching I found a nice red one with 63000 miles and FSH. It is completely solid underneath, but has a couple of patches of rust on the rear arches. I ended up paying £700! For some reason its really difficult to fin...
