Re: tubby vs na fuel econnomy

I get an average of 290-300 miles per tankfull on my n/a 3s-fe motor with mixed driving on a day to day basis and do not drive like a vicar/nurse probably due to the low bhp engine I presume the higher output motors drink a bit more or just get driven harder for more fun

Re: Clutch Slipping

It is not difficult to change the clutch but could be daunting for a novice.Once all the crap is out of the way ie induction piping etc it is easier to see the top side of bellhousing. It is difficulr to find a couple of the top bolts I do it by feel. The underside is fairly straightforward as long as...

Re: Is a clutch change a big job?

I have changed or clutches on n/a mr2 cars 4.5 hours is about right for a book time on labour. The first one took me about 5 hours but after a couple I took about 3 hours. Its a case of knowing what you need to take off ,knowing where all the top bell-housing bolts are and if you are tall with long ar...

Re: Anyone fitted bi-xenon's

I bought some for my mk 2 coz the lights were rubbish. When i removed the old bulbs they had 100/80w high wattage bulbs fitted allready.I fitted the xenons and problem cured.I think wattage doesnt always mean brighter lights-Jon

[Mk2] [NA] uprsted /lowering springs.

I have just fitted a set of seventeen inch alloys to my 91 sw20(uk) and want to lower it a bit.Is there any differance across the mk 2 range ie differances between turbo and rev 1,2,3 models on spring fitments?-Jon

Re: Tyre sizes on 17 inch wheels

Managed to get a pair of 255/40x17 pirelli p-zero rosso n3 tyres for the rear wheels and then fitted them .It looks awesome from the rear and to my surprise the back end does break loose when giving it large but slides slowly and is easier to control than before .I may play about with the rear press...

Tyre sizes on 17 inch wheels

I have been looking at a set of alloys off and mr2 turbo which are for sale locally. The rear rims are 9x17 and have 255/40x17 tyres on which need replacing. The front rims are narrower with 205/40x17 tyres which have some life left. What size does everyone recommend for the rear considering the width ...

Re: instability at high speed

HI Ryan My car is not fitted with a rear spoiler but I managed to pick up a rev 3 type spoiler this weekend which is going to be painted and fitted in the next week or so.The guy I got it off advised me to fit a rear strut brace which may help as well.I did read my manual which gave a variety of tyr...

Re: MOT Handbrake Test with an LSD???

Most cars with either constant 4 wheel drive or limited slip differential are not suitable for a standard mot brake roller test. The picture posted is called a de-celerometer and is used in these cases or as a secondary back up for 24 hours should the brake rollers be out of action. When a test is reg...
