celica engine transplant

Post by tiny big »

Has anyone experience of transplanting the 2000 16v engine from a celica into a mk 2.I have a 3s-fe motor at the moment but not sure what else will have to be changed as regarding clutch ,wiring, loom, ecu etc.The engine I am thinking of is a 3sge which is supposed to be the same as an mr2-any help appreciated-Jon

It'll fit.. you need a wiring loom and ecu though for the rev 2/ rev 3 ....

Clutch you may have to change.... and theres a few differences where the sensor array is......the MR2 has a filler neck attached to it that leads to the head, the Celica doesn't.... You could hack yours up to fit....

Alternator bracket needs chopping up, MR2's sit under the intake ( where the celica PAS sits ).. need to plug quite a few vac lines....

Because of this ( pas ), the bottom pulleys different on the celica .. but yours is interchangable...

Exhaust system, you need the front pipe from the MR2 though !! Its all do able...
