Re: best place for part worn tyres
I know I will be in the minority but I get tyres changed when I buy a car for all the above reasons. I buy old cars which generally come with total rubbish budget tyres which I will always change to a half decent Falken or similar. I hate mis matched tread patterns front and rear and have even bough...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] mbc boost help please
I know the spring can get caught on the thread of the bolt hole which will stop the adjustment working, this happened to me. I took it appart and re assemble it and it has worked fine ever since. I only use it to get 10 psi as my actuator spring is shagged, its the ebay brass body one with the allen...

Re: autopista spoiler on a TRD widebody
I have been thinking the same as I have an Autopista spoiler that I tried to sell with no takers. I could fit it to my TRD for a lot less cash than buying a TRD spoiler. I dont think it would be a huge job to make the winglets fit the TRD kit, just cut them down so they fit and then build the shape ...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Mounting Bucket Seats?
The buckets I removed from my car were on Stock runners which had then been bolted with a bracket to the seat. The 4 mounting positions on the floor of the car are not flat/level but the top of the runners are. I would suggest the only options for side mounts without sitting them on stock runners is...

Was going to suggest a tow bar as you will need tow bar electrics and a trailer board with either of the ones shown above to be legal.

Re: HELP!! Alternator issue?
If you've got a maplins local they'll be cheaper than halfords they used to do a basic £5 basic meter that will do most jobs They also do one now for about £13 that can do frequency and duty cycles which is pretty impresive for that price. Comes with a clamp for the HT lead so it can do RPM aswell ...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] V6 Exhaust with supercar style bypass valve.
I was thinking of doing this on my twin setup, having one of them switched off at low RPM's should make it quieter but both pipes would still be silenced. I was also going to use the T VIS system to activate it as this should be pretty simple and at the correct RPM's youd want it. I didnt bother in ...

Alternator, when the voltage regulator starts to die it can start to reduce the resistance between live and ground which causes a greater current draw.

Re: WINDOW STUCK OPEN!!! Controller burned out!
I'm in Guildford and I have an MR2 that is currently in peices. I'm not breaking it so you'd have to cover the cost of a replacement part but you could pick it up now.

Re: Rev 2 NA Won't Start
I found out my immobiliser on an old car was a GPS tracker so it was using a lot more power than you would expect from a basic alarm. It was not sold like this to me, I guess as it was no longer active for tracking information but it was still electrically active. You can also put your multimeter in...

Re: More N/A power
What's the difference in the quoted power claims between rev3 and rev5 NA... 4bhp? AFAIK that's just down to emissions tweaks. I'd be surprised is the cams are any different between the two engines and swapping the ECU will be rather problematic for the rev5's immobiliser! Its about 10bhp I think. ...

Re: More N/A power
I have hear it said that N/A tunning is the expensive way to go slowly. I beleive the rev5 N/A has less power than the rev 3 so a good start will be rev3 cams and ECU. Your never going to see more than 200bhp without some seriously expensive ECU and ITB combinations. I would say loose weight or forg...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rev 5 spoiler on rev 2
Surely a new boot lid is order of the day? They run to about £30, this has to be less than the labour of filling in the holes with an almost guarenteed better finish. I believe a rev 3 boot lid has the correct holes for a rev 5 spoiler (based on the TRD spoiler fitting both I have heard). Price does...

Re: Had a scare!
This is why I loved the traction control on my first turbo. I had the light blinking on in the dry (car was stock) and in the snow it was the only car that could make it out of my drive.

Saw this in CKC and was amazed at how it looks. One of the best looking cars I've seen this year and its epic that its MR2 based.
How do the V8 conversions work? I take it there is more room in it than in the bay of an MR2?

Re: Goods not sent by member after receiving my money.
Just a wee hint for buying via paypal. If you pay using "bank account" rather than a card payment ...... theres not normally a fee. Used that a few times when buying stuff on here. Works a treat. Not tried it in a few months but worked ok with no issues. This is only for personal payments...

All those complaining why dont you use google translate to read what is written? This thread is awesome. Its easier to translate the whole thread to read it that to translate each post as its posted. http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&...
