Re: [Mk2] [NA] Compression test completed and all correct, still problems

i was hopeing it wasnt coolant coming out as it is still doing it even though there is not even any collant in the system at the moment due to the overheating, also the liquid out of the exhaust is clear like water with no smell or colour. I used the Red forlife for the coolant and would expect that...

[Mk2] [NA] Compression test completed and all correct, still problems

A few weeks ago, the coolant system overheated and steam poured out of the cap and tank of the collant system. The temp went through the roof on the gauge. I bled the system about a month ago after it had done this the first time. The compression test was fine which means the engine is sound and tha...

[Mk2] [NA] Alternator Missing Bolt

My alternator belt began to squeak so I thought I would tighten it up, on looking at the alternator the bottom bolt has disapeared completely, the alternator obviously isnt able to tension the belt and the alternator rocks backwards and forwards. Why would the bolt just disapear?. Does anyone know t...

Re: What revision and engine is this please?

right so if that is true then it must have been an implant as the car is an Imported 1991 G-limited, or does this engine belong in this car?

Re: URGENT! (possibly) RADIATOR HELP!

defo the radiator leaking, that red goo is the rad fluid called 'for life' also as well as a new rad you gunna need the coolant. As far as I know you can only buy it from Toyota, not too expensive as not really wanted by many, only made for MR2's. Cost me about £25 for 12 litres, takes about 7-8 lit...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Alternator????

have you removed the alternator from its bracket? if so there are several ways to get the alternator out of the engine bay. Firstly you can remove the bracket also and then bring both up and out the top of the engine bay but the bracket is a nightmare to remove. remember that when replaceing the alt...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Car turning over but not starting

new fuel line fitted, and car running. The only other thing I have noticed since starting it is that it is idling at 2000 revs and automatically drops to 1500 then back up, over and over again, any ideas on this problem please?

Dashboard warning lights, reasons?

I am unable to start my MR2 MK2 G-limited. There seems to be a lack of fuel coming in to the engine and I believe there is a fuel leak on the fuel pipe between the the filler and the rail. Think I knocked it when I was installing a new alternator last week. Would this cause the following lights to r...
