Looks like a gen 3 3SGE to me. That would be SW20, late 1993 and after (rev 3-5).

right so if that is true then it must have been an implant as the car is an Imported 1991 G-limited, or does this engine belong in this car?

It does look like a rev3 lump in a rev1 shell ... as also implied by your garage car description of a 1991 rev3. Certainly not the same 3SGE I have in my G reg. Surely there will be paperwork confirming chassis and engine numbers somewhere?

It's had a swap at some point if your shell is a rev 1. Rev 1/2's came with gen 2 engines.

...You need to ckeck your V5 for the engine number (if it has the number being a G-Ltd) and also make sure your insurance is aware.

That engine is from a UK rev3, or JDM rev3/rev4.
