My car is currently running at high revs when idle and aldo when in gear whilst not accelerating. It is constantly sat at 2000 rpm. This sounds bad at traffic lights for instance and at the moment im able to pull away in scond due to the high revs, feels like im driving a automatic or somat. Any ideas please?

check for air leaks 1st mate.

2krpm will be a big air leak, that's where my car idles if I pull off the brake servo hose for example.
