Re: [All] [Generic] Wheel nuts not marking with socket

I have just bought some Rota wheels and they came with "tuner nuts". The outside of the nut is smooth and round and the inside is like a torx bit. You need a special socket to tighten and remove but the alloy socket so far has not hurt the black paint on the nut. This has the added advanta...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Whiteline ARB fitment for handling

I have had whiteline ARBs on mine for years, but have the standard shocks and springs. I went medium hole on the front and stiffest hole on the back. The turn in is incredible but this set up does promote some oversteer.....which I think is excellent. It's not lairy though and hasn't presented me wi...

Re: White\grey smoke

I've found a local mr2 specialist near me that I'm dropping the ECU off to tommorow so he's going to have a look and fix it hopefully It's strange how it's been running recently had high idle engine light flickering but never cut out untill last night it literally fired up ran low idle and really l...

Re: MR2 REV3 NA not a happy bunny.

Hi, I cannot suggest what else to look for but it may well be worth contacting "The ECU Doctor" http://www.the-ecu-doctor.co.uk/ I used them for my Hilux Surf (it kept turing off randomly) and it turned out to be burned out capacitors. They charged about £250 and it has been fine for 2 yea...

Re: Guildford Midnight Run - reluctantly cancelled

Unfortunately I only have 3 functioning brake calipers and an expired MOT...

Won't be able to fix it and MOT it in time so will have to bail out.

Hope you have a good run

Re: Anyone plagued with blowing mani gasket

I had exactly this - also, 3 snapped studs!

Took it to Rogue and they did a fantastic job replacing all of the studs, removing the snapped ones and a new toyota gasket. This was about 5 years ago and all is still well.

Can't recommend them enough...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Clutch Replacement

I took mine to Rogue Motorsport last year and had a stage 1 clutch fitted. Think it was about £600 inc. redline gearbox oil.

Can't praise them enough and well worth the drive for peace of mind

Re: Turbo Technics Rebuild/Upgrade thoughts?

I have a TT reconditioned turbo on my rev3. Aside from steel shaft it's completely standard. Works floorlessly, perhaps slightly more laggy, but I have had it on there for 4 years and about 20,000 miles so far. Car only comes out occasionally, driven hard and put away again. So - I'm very happy with...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] hkd bov adapter putty/silicone??

I agree, the design is poor - mine leaked at the top (opposite the bolt) too. I removed the mount from the pipe, bent it so the angle on the inside was just slightly more than 90deg and then refitted. This ensured that the gap at the top was sealed. It hasn't leaked in 3 years and I have no worries ...

Rogue Clutch Change Excellent

Just to say thanks to Matt for my clutch change this week on my Rev3 Turbo.

Great service, turned up, clutch changed and then I drove away (nearly running over Patrick in the process!).

Definitely recommend.

A1 for Rogue again

The guys at rogue changed my cambelt last week with the tensioners too. Car arrived with a strange noise and left silent as a mouse (well, a mouse with a nurspec!). Despite a hiccup halfway through (old car, not rogue's fault) Matt was in constant contact and all was well. It's an hour and half each...

Re: Removable silencers - angry neighbours

I'm not sure about mongoose specifically although I seem to remember that a mongoose looks standard so not sure how a hung would fit in it... However, I have a bung for my nurspec and it changes it from really loud to slightly less than really loud. I use it for the MOT and it can make the differenc...

Yeah possibly, I went to a couple of meets in the olden days.

Re: Bike Rack for MR2

Just put it in the car. I have a large (19") bike and just put it on the passenger seat. Also do the same in my MX5. No damage to paint or risk to bike. There is no way in hell his bike would ever fit inside the MR2. It's very long and has pretty much no 'quick release' bits :) Fair enough, al...

No, they do 215/45/17 which won't fit unless you have coilovers....I found out the hard/expensive way (the old style eagle F1s did fit on that size....the shoulder is slightly higher on the asymmetrics)

Re: tyre profiles

I think a lot of people find a tyre that's ok and stick to it (cos the expense is such a gamble to move on to something else), however, I have tried the following if it helps: Toyo T1R: thought they were good at the time albeit a bit soft in the sidewall. Having tried others I realise they were pret...
