didnt consider HG etc but dont want to be going 'balls-out' with the boost. Just the increase to a sensible 15 psi will do for me. Will get in touch with TB.
Steveo: Whats involved with the fitting exactly just splice FCD wire into loom???
Jim
Need an FCD for my rev2 tubby. Want something easy to install and which preferably has a safe pre-set raised limit e.g MR2 turbo specific.
Any thoughts?
Jim
oops, should have looked more thoroughly!
did you decide to just put another set of rear droplinks on the front instead? has it done the job? let me know please mate, my car is useless at the mo!
jim
Fitted my coilovers back on to the tubby today. when i removed them im pretty certain they had the longer front droplinks on the front (where they should be!) and the shorter ones on the rear. i threw the old droplinks away when i took them off, they were all worn to death! however, having refitted ...
Ive got a similar problem mate, only mine feels like the car is gonna explode above 60mph. Im replacing the shocks early next week with some old coilovers i have lying around as ive been trough pretty much the same fault diagnosis as you and can only think its the top mounts, as someone suggested. J...
Update, its using rather a lot of oil. Travelled approx 200 miles down the motorway and its used around 3/4 of a litre of oil. Could oil in the combustion chamber be causing this reluctance to rev? Ive got the service manual on CD, im sure there is a section in there about checking the resistance of...
yeah im aware of all that, i own a tubby too! its just a winter run about to save the tubby gettin covered in the winter road salt and other rubbish. it just seems a bit odd how the car refuses to rev any further- its similar to riding a 2-stroke motorbike; rev it hard through the rev range and it e...
Quick question regarding my 3SFE winter run about: It doesnt seem to want to rev much at all. It gets to around 5k rpm and is really labouring, is this normal? Ive no idea if the car has a rev limiter (i dont tend to thrash my cars to destruction but would be nice to know if there's something wrong!...
not sure what to look for exactly with regards to the top mounts- i checked the four bolts at the top of each, nipped them up a little but has made no difference. Do i need to remove the whole shock absorber to fully inspect the top mounts and what should i be looking for damage/wear wise???
jimbo
the judder is through the whole car, noticeable at all speeds, bad at 60mph, undrivable if any faster. Hit the brakes, it just gets worse.
thanks guys,
jimbo
ah fair enough. yeah ive had the brakes apart, re-greased with copper grease as you should which has improved the 'feel' of the brakes however, what I have noticed is that im getting severe vibration at speed- 70+ and its undrivable. Had wheel alignment/balance- all ok. been under car and inspected ...
Few questions about brakes: My discs have 2 threaded holes in them, opposite one another, what are they for? The 'stud' holes in the discs are much wider than the diameter of the wheel studs, is this normal, if so why? If someone cant find a solution to the bad vibrations under braking, would they l...
Thanks fellas. I changed the inner ball joints (to PAS rack) on my turbo as they failed the MOT last time around but couldnt notice any vibration. Think i'l take it to my local garage and get them to give it an MOT 'style' check over things. Will report back once I know the fault. Thanks again, Jimbo
It's coming from the front, been on the car since i got it, is worse at speed and a differenet set of wheels and tyres has failed to cure the problem. Are there any mr2 'common fault areas' on the front end I could check first? Really need this sorting now- it's driving me nuts and is probably dange...
I don't think the lights flashing bit has anything to do with it. In fact I was always told you flash your lights to show you're there and not to assume someone's giving way. Bad luck mate, hope it all gets sorted. Yep, it's to let other road users aware of your presence. Thats the law- however ano...
The simple truth of the matter is that one was DESIGNED and MADE to do 200+mph. The other, the Skyline wasn't. While I dont doubt that a 1000bhp Skyline would crack 200mph, the Veyron WOULDN'T feel like it was about to fall to pieces- I think this is a point that has been rammed home by tv presenter...
I think the low frequency with which these drivers use their indicators suggests to me that they must be a £500 optional extra, which they would rather put towards that much needed operation to remove their head from their a$s.
