could be the drop links mate (about £150 or there about...or you can get a cheap set from ebay for about £25 ) a common fault with the mk2 also have a look at the bushes

not quite sure where you are......have you checked the water pump is ok

i try not to take my motor to a garage to have work done on it mate [-X there are a lot of cowboys out there who just wanna rip off someone ](*,) if ther is any thing i cant handle myself i do take it to a local guy who is great at welding and has his own workshop attatched to his house with a lift ...
