Tried blocking off the tube to the boost controller and it didnt achive anything bar making the gage or controller stop moving.
I'm starting to think it's not the ssqv that's the problem but something else as I put the standard bov back on again without the resirc pipe and it still sounded limp.

Re: HKS SSQV problem
Think I jumped the gun on the fuel thing as the light still hasn't came on. As for the hks being a fake it does look pretty old hence bolts being not as chrome but it came with the car so not that bothered. Also I took it apart so could explain the fin not sitting right. Going to try n put my mates ...

Re: HKS SSQV problem
Not tried closing off that T section yet but something new to report - Only got about 50miles to 20 quid optimax. Usually get between 80 - 100. Dunno if it's related to the ssqv sounding rank or not

I wondered that myself. Last rev3 never had that pipe but this is a rev4 engine so wasn't sure. It goes off and thru the hole in the bulk head down behind the induction kit.

Re: HKS SSQV problem
Don't think there is a vac leak as I took the small pipe of the ssqv and the engine note changed a lot and and there was plenty suction. Any other ideas? Lol

Re: HKS SSQV problem
Well it used to be proper loud, even on really low boost when you just put your foot down for a bit then lifted off.
I'll get a photo up of the engine bay tomorrow. It sounds so crap now compared to what it used to. Hope the hks isnt bu88ered.
Cheers

Re: HKS SSQV problem
Good shout. I've just left the hks on for the moment. I'll get a picture of the set up up tomorrow.
When I did put the standard bov on I left the re surc pipe off letting it vent into the engine bay and it still sounded feeble.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Toyota universal gear oil 80w90
It seems like it's done a good job. I got 4 1litre bottles from Toyota for about 20quid
The stuff in my box previous was well past it tho so anything would seem like an improvement! Gear changes are nice and smooth however

Re: HKS SSQV problem
Mine looks like a newer one to that and don't think it has any adjustment screws. Will try take it apart n see what's what. Failing that the standard bov will have to go back on.
This is my one I think

I got a horrible droaning noise coming from the front. Possibly the wheel bearing?? Sounds like quite loud road noise.
