wheel bearing?

Post by cvega666 »

The other day driving down the road i heard a noise like you would drive thru some gravel - only in the rear and no gravel on the road. Now when i go slowly, i hear something rubbing somewhere - metallic sound, and a slight click when i start moving. only from the rear right wheel tho. Does that sound like a bearing ? i cant hear or feel any vibration at higher speed - but it's not like the 2 is quiet ;)

i have a brand new bearing for sale if you need it, done literally about 50 miles!!! it's currently pressed into the passenger side hub, but can easily be pressed out to fit the other side, it does sound like a bearing but hard to tell without inspecting it :thumleft:

jack up the suspected wheel, see if there's any play by shaking at a bit, there might be a wee bit of play but you should be able to tell if it's exessive, it's a pretty obvious noise when the wheel bearing is gone, it;s a horrible grinding sound, or a whining at higher speeds :thumleft:

I got a horrible droaning noise coming from the front. Possibly the wheel bearing?? Sounds like quite loud road noise.

Whats the typical price for one of these from say pentland or euro car parts?

Prices vary on ebay
