Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Car is wandering and oversteering more to the right

There are 2 *really good* wheel alignment places in Milton Keynes these days. JPS Motorsport and Wheels In Motion would both be able to perform comprehensive and conclusive investigation into this. That saves me PM'ing you asking this question... I'm not sure the WIM branch is 100% open yet, it's v...

Thanks for the suggestion Nic, unless it is only sticking when driving I don't think that it is the cause. I can easily push the car back and forward on the driveway...

I'm not getting any heat build up when driving also ..

[Mk2] [Turbo] Car is wandering and oversteering more to the right

Just broke the car out after its winter hibernation and it's handling a bit scary. It is wandering about a bit and also you get a big over-steer sensation - more so when cornering right rather than left. Tyre pressures all checked as well as all the bushes (by a garage I trust). Full alignment done ...

Fair bit of wind noise but I was using a cheap keyfob spy camera. Ignore the date/time stamp also.

Stick with it @ 9m 30sec :thumleft:

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Ripping out the active system?

Well I spent 11am to 7pm today putting everything back together. I test fitted the ICE yesterday and ensured all wiring was good. Got dash back in and everything tidied up, only made a couple of cockups in the sequencing of the bits. Second to last job was a full clean of interior which is much more...

update..

..after buying all the goodies last weekend and stripping out the interior I have now test fitted the amp and head unit. Speakers are in the doors and I have done basic setup to ensure it is sounding all ok. I know exactly where the dashboard rattle was and that is all sorted now. Tomorrow entails p...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Ripping out the active system?

Yes, the stock head unit receives power via the amps. It's a bit weird compared to most car stereos in that the power comes through the amps to the head unit, and then the head unit sends the amps a signal to turn on. The usual 2 connectors (10pin and 6pin) you would see behind a passive Toyota ste...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Ripping out the active system?

I noticed when I removed one of the rear amps the head unit then failed to power up. My question is - does the head unit get power via the rest of the Toyota kit or is there an easy to locate permanent live and ignition switched live where the head unit is? I'm gonna rip out the entire active system...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Been posting this for 5 years no answere! radio ignition noise

I have fixed mine and my mates MR2's with noisy stereos by running a direct earth from the head unit to the chassis (as close as possible to the stereo).

I earthed mine to one of the bolts that holds the gear leaver assembly down.

Worth a punt.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Can anyone recommend an audio installer around Milton Keynes?

Also if they can do alarms / immobilisers would be a bonus.

Thanks in advance
