Re: [All] [Generic] Link ECU - Windows 8

OK. It's good to know that that might be a solution if I can't get Windws 8 to work. I have to admit I'm not great when it comes to computer systems however so will probably get someone else involved to do the hard bits.

Cheers for the idea though. :thumleft:

Re: [All] [Generic] Link ECU - Windows 8

They have indeed. For anyone who's interested, the official response was that there should be a G4 compatible solution in a few weeks, but there are no plans to do anything specifically for the G3. Having said that the G3 should work with the G4 drivers... Prior to that I did get as far as wandering...

Re: [All] [Generic] Link ECU - Windows 8

I tried calling the UK dealer but they couldn't help. Have now sent an email too so will hopefully get a response there.

Yep I posted on there on Tuesday but haven't had a reply yet. I thought I'd try on here too just in case anyone knew.

[All] [Generic] Link ECU - Windows 8

I'm not sure if anyone on here can help but there are a lot of Link ECUs around so I'll give it a go.

Does anyone know if the Link ECU software works on windows 8?
I've got a G3 so am using the slightly older version of PCLink, not the latest one for G4 only...

Re: MR2 SW20 RHD Power Steering Quick Steer Pinion.

I'm assuming no one has received anything yet? Marty - How are these being distributed? If the supplier is planning to send them direct to each of us I would be suspicious as they don't seem very trustworthy so far. At what point do they get paid? Is it once they've made and delivered the parts, or ...

Re: [All] [Generic] Exhaust manifold fabrication

Yes. Finally got my EFR through \:D/

I might be wrong but I don't know of anyone running one in an mr2 yet so it should be interesting.

I wasn't planning to run a top mount but I might be forced to if I can't fit it in below.

Am I right in assuming that stainless is the only way to go?

Re: [All] [Generic] Exhaust manifold fabrication

Thanks for the response guys. Bob - RacerX looks pricey but I'll give them a call to see what they can do for me. It's a pain that they're in the US but your manifold looks great so it's a good advert! dawsey - I'm not convinced I need it from a power perspective as I was making 460+ previously on a...

[All] [Generic] Exhaust manifold fabrication

Does anyone have any good contacts that could help out with exhaust manifold production? I'm looking to end up with a twin scroll, equal-length manifold without any external wastegate ports, so I need to either buy one (but I can't find anythng so far) or make it from scratch. Assuming I end up maki...

Re: [All] [Generic] My tablet display

I wrapped the tab in clingfilm and then put a thin layer of fibreglass over it to get the right shape. Then I peeled off the FG and built that into the centre console. To hold the tab in place I'm using part of a cover that I had which clips onto the four corners. I screwed that to the fibreglass an...

Re: [All] [Generic] My tablet display

Well so far there are no wires  I want to add connections to allow it to use the car speakers and to charge from the cigarette lighter but haven't done either of those yet. I'm not really an ICE expert to be honest but like trying new things so gave this a shot. I'm planning to simply use the ...

Not the best photo, and this was before I panted the surround black but you get the idea... http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb304/jwingers/mr2%20parts/IMAG0350.jpg I'm fairly happy with it but have a few tweaks that I might try to introduce as it doesn't have any connection to allow it to charge ...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Lift rating for equipment for mk2 engine swap

You'll need to lift it pretty high though if you want to lift the car up and pull the engine out from underneath. Not sure if you've already considered that or not but it's worth bearing in mind. I took the inlet manifold off when I did it that way. Also check that the front bumper isn't on the floo...

Is there a price reduction due to all the delays?
It seems fair for the machinist to offer something back since they've been messing you/us around for god knows how many months now.

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Tablet pc in dash

I'm a big fan of this. I used to run a carputer but have now got a Samsung 8.8" tablet to fit instead. That should fit quite well portrait, slightly more OEM-look than this example. That's not a criticism though - the quality of work in this thread is impressive. I just agree with the above pos...
