Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Suspension Geometry Rev3
In my experience adjusting the caster on the front leads to the biggest detectable change in turn in vs stability. Imo +5.5 would be more suitable for high speed stability and will be a trade gainst turn in, maybe try something more along the lines of 3.5 which I think it actually closer to stock. A...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Help Me Choose...Again!!!
I would go with standard disks, more than up to the job for road use. The drilled/grooved ones are just for show really, I'm sure others will argue otherwise tho ;) As for pads I would say ebc red stuff for road use, well priced for what you get. They only take a for prods of the pedal to get them u...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Compression test results
Did the test again with the throttle wide open, 169 168 168 169, happy days
Also regapped the plugs to 0.7mm as there is a bit of a hesitation before full boost, cant hurt I guess.
Thanks for the help guys
John.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Wheels - Which colour?
Go for the yellow, worse way you can get them diamond cut back later if you didnt like it.
Not sure if its possible but how about annodized gold/yellow?

Check the front track control arm bushes too, the ones on the end of the long bar connected to the lower arm, runs toward the front of the car.

That test was dry from cold, pulled the 3 fuses from in the engine bay, can never remember which is which.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Help me choose please...quick!!!
These are the ones I'm using, I would just get yours checked first tho as they may well be fine. There are a few of the bushes that are a pain, the old ones needed burning out. Dont mean to put you off but it can be a task. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Toyota-MR2-Mk2-SW20-Prothane-COMPLETE-poly-bush-kit_W0...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Help me choose please...quick!!!
I'm using a set of Tein mono's. Prob a bit overkill for road use, not comfortable in the slightest but make a pretty good road/track car. What is the intended use for yours? If I was buying for a pure road car I would deff go with tein ss, heard nothing but good things about them. In my experience t...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Compression test results
Cheers guys, I'll try that injector cleaner. It also dawned on me that I didnt hold the throttle open while I cranked, might make a diff. My tester is a cheapo jobby too, like you say its not so much the number as the diff in the 4. That said 147 ish seemed a little too low at the time, prob worryin...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Compression test results
Replaced the spark plugs on my 1993 rev 3 tubby last week and thought I would do a compression test while I was at it. A little concerned about the results 147-149 psi across all 4, although there are no wild discrepancies between any 2 cylinders I was just a little worried that those readings are a...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Departure 2 Repair
I've had all of the mild replaced with stainless on mine, 3" all the way back if I remember right. It did cost a fair bit, £400. This did include new stainless perf tube and baffles repacked tho. You have to really love the Dep II as it will be cheaper to get a new alternative exhaust? Be very ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] hello im new to imoc, and im in a pickel
My vote would go for the Rogue Rev 6 replica, I think its as close to factory fit as you are likey to get from a fibreglass moulded part. They chap they use to produce them was also nice enough to use black gelcoat so that when it chips the paint it shows black under and not white. See if they will ...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Steering Wheel - Slight Update
That looks spot on mate! What size is it? Had thought of doing the same but wasnt sure the spline size was the same.
Although I like how my omp wheel feels I cant say the same for the aftermarket look. That later oem look is a subtle upgrade.

+1 for WiM.
I have used them and will not go anywhere else for full geo setups.
I think they will have several setups for 2's as they have done quite a few now.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Best spring rates (Coilovers)
I have Tein Flex which if I remember right are the same rates as the BC racing ones you have mentioned. For road use I find it too hard but nice on track. My guess would be the units ability to damp that rate would be as important if not more so and as I know nothing about the 3 manufacturers you ha...

Re: [Mk2] [SC] Recommend a rolling road place in the south east.
When I said the car was pretty standard I was refering to the engine really as it has no stand alone ecu to map, standard internals etc. Its just that I want to know that I'm running the power I think (hope) I should have. I also fitted a boost controller I while back and have never really been 100%...
