What's the best spring rates to cruise in the streets and do some trackdays with the performance in mind?
Front Spring Rate 6kgf/mm
Rear Spring Rate 10kgf/mm (HSD HR)
Front Spring Rate 7.5kgf/mm
Rear Spring Rate 9.3kgf/mm (K-Sport)
Front Spring Rate : 5kgf/mm (279.3lbs/in)
Rear Spring Rate : 8kgf/mm (446.9lbs/in) (BC Racing)
I have Tein Flex which if I remember right are the same rates as the BC racing ones you have mentioned. For road use I find it too hard but nice on track. My guess would be the units ability to damp that rate would be as important if not more so and as I know nothing about the 3 manufacturers you have listed I cant comment.
Now if ohlins did coilovers for the mr2 thats where I'd be putting my money
Alot of people say that the rates on the Tein Super Street to be about right, cant remember the exact figues but somewhere around 6 rear 3 front rings a bell, might be a bit soggy on track tho. So maybe a damper unit that can handle a good range of spring rates so u can change out later?
I guess there is only one way to find out!
Tein Super Streets
Front 3.0 kgf/mm
Rear 5.0 kgf/mm
Friend of mine with a skyline GTS t had Tein HR's on which were way too hard so fitted Super streets with the edfc, rates them very highly.
Sadly I have Tein HR's on mine and would love super streets but really can't blow that much on suspension so I'm looking for a softer coilover in the £500/£600 bracket.
