Different car but i'll see your cracked disc and raise you: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/rwnlowe/Image000-1.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/rwnlowe/Image001-1.jpg These were Spoon discs, so not cheap. They are not just machine blanks, these have proper curved internal cooling vane...
5 vtecs engines from one person.. maybe he keeps it at redline for lengthy amounts of time and not check oil levels, change oil, etc.. :-k Nope, i drove them normally. Yes i used VTEC, but not all the time. Both my cars had full honda service histories, my current car i bought brand new and have ch...
I had a rev2 Turbo for about 4 years and loved it. When i wanted to change it was either for a newer MR2 or the S2000 which was the only real alternative as a 2 seater roadster with a reasonable boot size and similar speed to the MR2. So i went for the S2000, primarily because it was a change and be...

Have you ever driven an S2000? Unbelievably good sounding exhaust note for a 4 pot when you get into the VTEC zone. In fact, in many ways they're the perfect affordable sports car (at least when the prices come down a bit more).
completely missed it. Who was the company? I am amazed you all missed the saga that prompted this. It wasn't about liable, it was about a company threatening to sue due to being banned from the forum, because he found a 'hole' in the 'contract'. It's a sad fact but it was true that the admin...
Well that's not true for the F20c engine in the s2000. Honda fills with mineral oil, and adds a molydenum additive. It tells you in the handbook, and i've been through it enough. 5 engines in the last 2 S2000's, all 3 replacements have been done by dealers under warranty, all filled with mineral oil...
Funny thing is, new cars built today with 5 year 100,000 miles warranties still tell you to take it easy for the first 1000 miles. Honda for example tell you not to vtec for the first 600 miles and then increase the revs 1000 rpm per 100 miles. They fill the engine with mineral oil for the first 9k ...
At least they came back to apologise. They didn't look the types. I would have quite liked to be a fly on the wall when Jonny told them their day was over :D Glad the slower S2k's behaved well. They're a pretty decent bunch and quite a range of mixed abilities, but they all know and appreciate the r...
Spend your money on decent pads first, then look at the discs. You can't anodise iron, so if the ebay specials said they're annodised, they either don't know what they're talking about or you're buying aluminium discs :pale: You can get plated ones, but i'm using BDA 4000 series discs at the moment ...
 at warmup lap :) The irony about Jonny's eRise ending up in the gravel was that we'd just been chatting about car values after they'd been used as track slags. Jonny had commented that his car was worth peanuts compared to the investment he'd made in it, but now he'd got it just how he wanted...
Ah, i was behind you through Mcleans and Coppice and was impressed with how 'adjustable' the rear end was. I had a fairly good view from the BatCat as you're fairly low to the ground! I could see you drifting it, the car coming back into line and then you provoking it back out again :) And then you ...
We normally get 20 ish cars at the days i organise. Today we got the same number of cars driving, and a similar number there to spectate. Was a really good day. I spoke briefly to Garrick, missed ben and speedy. Ben, did you have your mk3 turbo on track? looked like i saw you pulling out of the queu...
I wouldn't go near drilled or spotted disc (ie ebc) this was one of my spoon discs after half a trackday http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/rwnlowe/Image000-1.jpg plain discs are fine. Spend your money on uprated pads. If you're desperate to blow some money on discs, look for some discs with curv...
Will do. I'm in Bat6 and I'm sharing it with another guy, but i'll be the one with the matt black helmet. Its going to be quite a busy day for me as there's quite a few people there i need to speak to and it also the memorial day for Peter (PJL) but i'll try and pop over to say hello. But if you see...
if its running right then that would be quicker than a Standard S2k.
I call a lightly moddified car a standard engine and turbo with slightly upped boost, eg MBC abd FCD as per my old rev2.
