Re: mr2 as a trackcar - honest opinion
Imo the mk2 isn't bad, but its not great. The engine is fantastic, and near bulletproof, but the car is a bit heavy. If you can shave some weight off them, aim for the mr2 race car sort of weight, they become very good imo. Loads of info here http://mr2championship.freeforums.org/a-guide-to-selectin...

Re: need more grip, any recommendations on tyres for back end of my 2
i heard hankook rs2 or something is pretty decent.... Not in the same league as R1Rs imo. Both are semi track day tyres, so will be pretty poor when cold. AD07/08 are excellent on road and track, better than rs2 but not as grippy as r1r Or, get R888 if you have the budget and don't plan on driving ...

Mk 2 easy to buy/sell on? HUGE price variation. Who prefers NA?
Hi guys I have a friend who wants a mk 2. I owned a mk3 a few yrs back which I loved but he wants a mk 2 as he prefers the look and the decent boot. He intends to get a NA, only as it will be better on fuel, and perhaps a little cheaper to run. Will be used for daily driving, but maybe the odd track...

Re: Roadser Tyre Choice ?
toyo proxies are good esp in wet but take a long time to scrub in
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Advan Neovas from Elise are awesome
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Hankook RS2s are good- better than proxy for track work, good value too
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Kumho KU31 are good- comparable to Proxy

Re: Tyre choice
i looked into this for a m8 and it came down to the proxys or the kumho KU31
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
the latter won it for me- cheaper and just as good- although different handling characteristics

PADS- can you mix? Mintex 1144 on front, EBC Yellow on back???
Hi there, looking at upgrading the brake pads on a Mk 2 Tubby before we do a track day. Most of the cars use is OFF track though. The EBC yellows seem a bit contraversial- but atm i can buy Mintex 1144 fronts (rears not avaliable) for about £12 more than the yellows! I have used the 1144s before and...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Pls help me choose correct tyre sizes for 17" Alloys
Hi Guys, My friend has recently acquired a mk2 tubby and before we go on a track day he may need new rears. Im trying to convince him to have 4 new ones but will have to see how the money is. He has 17" alloys on the car, current tyre sizes are: 205 40 R17 235 40 R17 Will these sizes be in keep...
