Re: Car wont start, turn ignition and all dashlight/electrics go out
I had similar issues on an Accord Type R, it would do all sorts of odd things, wouldn't start randomly and even cut out while driving! I traced it to the ignition switch that is attached to the back of the ignition barrel, the contacts were gunked up. I opened it and cleaned the contacts with fine s...

Re: Mk1.5 and Mk1.6 on track
Funniest event of the day was after signing on, the guy gave me a round red sticker.
Me: Where do i stick this?
Instructor 1: Front of the car.
Me: Where?
Instructor 1: Anywhere!
Instructor 2 (laughing):First trackday, son?
Me (sheepishly): Errr, aye

Re: Mk1.5 and Mk1.6 on track
The 205 was actually silver, not sure what engine was in it but it was fully caged and pretty quick. That was my cool down lap that he passed me on though  Surprised a few rather quick cars, VX220 couldnt keep up on the straights. Exige club racer had to be let past at the end of the straight a...

Any pics of the 215 tyres on the 7J rim? I was looking to do this on my superleggera's but i thought 215's would be too wide.

Re: Products for flushing coolant System
Dishwasher tablet, pop one in a bucket of warm water, crumble up till it dissolves. Drain your coolant, Pop the soapy water in, then run the engine up to temp. Drain and flush through with the hose, then re-fill and bleed :D I did my Mk1 the other night, it was amazing all the orange rusty crap that...

How's things Gary? Dont sell it, you'll regret it!
Your old engine is still going great in my Mk1, ive since discovered it has aftermarket cams in it, do you know what type they are?
Also, did the engine have an uprated Head gasket in it?
Cheers, Paul

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] REv 3 engine conversion parts?
You'll need Rev3 or ST205: Ignitor Map sensor Mat Sensor 4 Wire O2 sensor Fuel pressure Regualtor 540cc injectors Ive done this on my 3SGTE Mk1 and its a great swap, its much better if your using a power fc or other EMS as the difference in VE between the rev2 and rev3 engines can caause problems.

Re: think ive discovered what my "secondary" catchcan is for!
So, one end of the silver aftermarket can goes to the intake and the other end goes to atmosphere? I would have said that that setup does nothing other that allow unfiltered air into your intake pipe? The stock catchcan is connected as it normally is and theres a pipe coming from it that drains the ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Long-Term Storage of my Tubby.
Best way to store it is under a car port, that lets air circulate under the car and stop moisture from corroding it. By 2011 your tyres will be cracking and probably require replacement anyway so dont worry about flat spots. Keep the battery connected and keep it trickle charged, this also helps pre...
