Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Airlocked heater matrix? Coolant system woes.
You don't need the rad cap on 1 click, just do it up properly. As the car hits operating temp the air will be pushed out of the overflow pipe into the bottle, make sure the bottle is 3/4 full. Leave the matrix bleed valve open with the hose connected and pinned up high, make sure the car is facing u...

Well, just thought I'd write what the problem was, hhopefully save someone a panic attack and migraine someday.. Basically my coolant expansion bottle was too small and each time Idrove the car it would fill the bottle and overflow ever so slightly, then when it cooled down again it would suck all ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Oh dear, overheating.. cracked block?
To be able to run 2 bar boost you should be around 7.0:1 compression ratio. To overcome the fact you are at 8.4:1 the ignition advance will have had to be retarded from its correct setting by about 20 deg I would think to stop detonation. This will mean the maximum combustion pressure instead of be...

A Rev 3 with 8.5:1 runs what 0.8 bar boost on road fuel.
You are running 8.3:1, but I am not sure that is right with a 1mm gasket, and just on 2 bar of boost on road fuel.
Is that telling you anything?
8.4:1
no, what are you getting at?

[Mk2] [Turbo] Oh dear, overheating.. cracked block?
Gave the car a good hard pull on the motorway today when the coolant temp gauge suddenly shot right up and the ecu triggered limp mode. nursed it back home as the gauge was fluctuating between half way and off the scale, i had to stop several times to allow it too cool down. It now appears there is ...

I cannot tell if thats the stock bearing or not! as i dont know what one looks like having an os giken unit in my car! lol.
Hmm.. can anyone confirm if that is a stock bearing?
How are you finding that clutch anyway? is it ok on the street or a little harsh?

Does anyone know if this clutch uses a special release / throw-out bearing or if it just retains the stock item?
Many thanks

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Modifying/lightening the stock flywheel
Never fit a lighter flywheel. It will not give any performance increase and will knock out the main bearings and could even snap the crankshaft. Remember simple physics. F=ma Force = Mass x acceleration. If we rearange this formula to focus on Acceleration then it would be a=F/m So therefore to inc...

Re: Introducing the “Dark Fury” project – 400rwhp ATS 2.3L 5SFE GTX3076
What turbo housing your runing? Hey mate - I'm running .63 A/R turbo housing I think you should run a size up on the Ar. i think 0.82 is the next size up on your turbo? I personally think the .63 is too small ,expec for a 2.3L displacement. Doing this will drop your intake temps and give you better...

Re: Why oh why am i still getting cold start issues?!
No, i have not tbh. The most i have done is leave it sit outside SRR for about 7 hours whilst waiting for it to be tuned. Ry did do the cold start then however i guess 7 hours is not long enough. What i don't get though is why does it get harder to start the longer it has been sitting?! it took an h...

Why oh why am i still getting cold start issues?!
If i have not started the car for a couple of weeks it becomes a right mission to get the thing back alive! its like i have to bring it back from the dead first then start it up! and the longer its been sitting without being started, the worse it is. For those of you who are not familiar with my car...

Damm.. Looks like i may have to upgrade to Syvecs then and make full use of the traction control system! MOTEC is the best way to go Nooo... If i buy another ecu it will be Syvecs. Its TODAY technology, Ryan has shown me a few functions of the ecu and it does look the absolute shizz! I know motec h...
