Got myself a motor for 10 quid, got it plugged into try a it and yes! It works! Job for Saturday morn and fit it.

this seems to be a common problem popping up. i suffered the same trouble, was determined it had to be alarm fault (got a toad alarm) bit of investigating and found the starter relay had lost its earth, spliced in a wire and put it straight to the starter relay bracket and sorted. markr32 - can u bu...

yeah my problem was completly unrelated to the alarm in the end it was just summit i thought was the problem.

have u checked the connection at the relay, checked the earth for it

mine was starting ok most of the time but would play up a fair bit

in the end that poor connection gave up lol

hope its the same problem as its an easy fix!

i was dreading it when it happened to me, i had visions of needing a starter motor etc, thought it was gonna cost a load but just needed a wire lol

starter relay is in the rear in the boot. Behind the cover that u look at as u look in the boot lol if that makes sense mine did the same not long ago, check the earth conection to the starter relay, mine lost it and from one or two posts on here its happened to a few people.
