i resolved this, turned out not to be an immobiliser issue at all, i must have upset on earth wire at some point whilst stripped the car down, so after much searching i contacted Paul woods @ Woodsport and he talked me through earthing the starter realy and hy presto my car works again

this seems to be a common problem popping up. i suffered the same trouble, was determined it had to be alarm fault (got a toad alarm)

bit of investigating and found the starter relay had lost its earth, spliced in a wire and put it straight to the starter relay bracket and sorted.

markr32 - can u bump start the car when the alarm is disarmed?

i have earthed my starter relay now so it starts on the turn of the key, not sure what caused it, as i have been over the car again and there are NO loose wires but hey ho .. starts now so not too fussed haha

i just cut the black/white thin wire added a terminal block and a think earth wire and attached this to the boot wall .. starts perfectely .. (when the battery has charge haha) #-o
