Toyota MR2 Rev4 Turbo TBar 72K £3200

I'm the second owner since import, the previous owner bought it from Newera Imports. I purchased it last year, its my third 4th MR2 and second Turbo. Unfortunately my commute to work has risen considerably so I can't justify the fuel cost and I wouldn't want to the put that many miles on it anyway. ...

I changed mine in 6 hours, it takes a while as you have to drop the tank out.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Anyone Fitted an ACT display?

I emailed Mike at R&B the other day as his gauge normally comes with 3m of cable but he said if I let him know how long I need it he can make it up for a bit extra.

I was going to have a go at fibreglassing mine above the steering column cowling

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] BOV placement

OEM valves are normally installed post inter/charge cooler so its the cooled charge that is recirculated, rather than recircluating the host gasses like the mr2 does as standard.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] ST205 Chargecooler Installation Guide (non 56k friendly)

The cold pipe should be the bottom one on the radiator. Your probably best measuring to see what size fan you can fit as everyone install is slightly different. But I would go for the biggest you can get without going larger that the radiator core.

Re: Any one got a HKS Intercooler?

The HKS pipework doesn't take a very good route so most people change them for custon pipework to stop the cold pipe going so close to the exhaust manifold. How is yours piped at the moment?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Compressor surge/wastegate chatter/whatever you want to call it..

My understanding was that ceramic turbos should be used with BOV to protect the blades. Any thing else is personal choice. I don't believe they reduce the lag either as your asking the turbo to refill all the intercooler pipework, whereas with no BOV on a quick gear change the intercooler pipework r...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] A chargecooler fitting query.

I wouldn't have thought it would of made that much difference, the air flow will ensure the heat is moving in the opposite directions and when your staionary as you leave a sufficent air gap it should be fine. I didn't have room for a fan (standard bumper + aircon), by I was thinking about putting a...

I had to get my bottom pin out by clamping the bracket in a vice. It was bent as one on the pistons had seized.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] intercooler removal help

As marty1 said take the three bolts out of the shroud so its free to move. You'll need to take the bracket off the bottom, you can get to the bolts from underneath with a long extension. Once thats done you need to twist the front of the intercooler towards the turbo so that the rear bottom corner g...

Mines a bit crunchy too, I always thought I would get one from Rogue when it gave up, but maybe not at that price.

Drop Centrury Motorsport a PM, they offer longer final drives so they must either rebuild them themselves or know someone who can.

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Fitting extended wheel studs

Use your normal wheel nut to start it and then put your wheel on it when you can't thread it into the nut anymore and use it as a spacer.

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Fitting extended wheel studs

Have you tried using a wheel nut, your probably want a open ended one. I would use plenty of oil and slowly screw the nut on and it should pull the stud into the hub.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Intercooler/chargecooler

I considered using a chargecooler from a Focus RS before I got my ST205 one. I never got round to measuring one but it looks compact enough. All depends how comfortable you are at making your ow pipe work up.

Does anyone know how long a R888 would last on the road? They're not much more than Yoko A022 in standard sizes.
