that's why they've made it a 50, to stop Lotus employee's ragging it in their company elises  I used to enjoy my drive into work as well even if they won't let me play with the toys :( To be fair I think the weekend bikers had as much to do with the speed limit change as we did as i seem to re...

Cheers all.
Looks like I'll have to give the GF a choice - Either she stays at home or I put dirty oily things in the back of her car. :p

I've had the box out of my old one before so know the weight well enough. I just couldn't remember the bulk of it.

Anyone know if a mk1 gearbox will fit in the boot?
Just bought one on eBay for the princely sum of £1.99 and I'm just wondering whether I'll have to take the other half's car when I collect or if I'll be able to put it in the back of the '2 Anyone tried this before or got a gearbox lying around they can try it with? my car is a mk1b if the extra int...

Looks like I might have to give this a miss. Off to a Smart show at billing with the Mrs this weekend and probably won't be back in time.
Still, there's always next month.

Re: MK1 - Strutbrace
You're right about the sunroof. My new '2 has a brace fitted and I got all confused on holiday last week when I tried to put the roof away for the first time and couldn't work out why it wouldn't fit (having done it plenty of times in the old car i wasn't expecting any difficulty :p). I'm thinking o...

Re: identify yourself
i expect this will be moved or deleted. i know this has been said many times but is it not a good idea to add your model to the subject. a simple mk1,mk2,turbo or anything that identifies the car. i know nothing about the turbo cars or any mk2 and it would save loads of time if i didnt keep looking...

Dark blue mk1 in Poole last week.
Just got back from my holidays. Whilst I was away (Norfolk > Shropshire > Poole > Goodwood > Norfolk) I only saw the one mk1 and it was parked up in a yard in Poole. Saw it on three seperate days. Anyone's here? By contrast I saw 2 Murcielagos, a Gallardo and at laest 4 old 'vettes (none of the abov...

The blue one's nice but I'm liking the track car  How did you do in the sprint? Rolls out the excuses.... ;) The sprints (I did 2 last year, and there's one this year which I'll probably do in the new car) were done for fun rather than out of competitiveness. The class I was in was for 1.4 ...

Having just bought my second MR2. I guess I'd better say hi! First MR2 was only bought cheap as a toy/second car to use and abuse. Seems I got hooked and I made the decision to get a tidy one as a daily driver. Took me long enough to find one I wanted and as always seems to happen in these situation...
