Having just bought my second MR2. I guess I'd better say hi!

First MR2 was only bought cheap as a toy/second car to use and abuse. Seems I got hooked and I made the decision to get a tidy one as a daily driver. Took me long enough to find one I wanted and as always seems to happen in these situations the car I bought turned out to be about 2 minutes down the road :p

I've got a couple of niggly trim issues to sort out but it seems a good 'un and for an 18yo car the interior looks like it's just rolled off the line!

And for old times sake here's the other one being given a good thrashing around the Lotus Test Track at Hethel in a Sprint last year:

Hi,

Welcome to IMOC. That is a nice looking Mk1. We have a good few Mk1 members so you will find lots of info here.

Head over to the IMOC 'Garage' and create a vehicle profile for your new toy. Then ever post you make will let users know what vehicle you have.

The garage can be found http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/garage.php

Rolls out the excuses.... ;)

The sprints (I did 2 last year, and there's one this year which I'll probably do in the new car) were done for fun rather than out of competitiveness. The class I was in was for 1.4 to 2 litre cars which put me at something of a power disadvantage. Plus the shocks were well past their sell by date and I was on crap tyres. And it was my first time on a track ever (well apart from karting).

In summary - I was last in class in the first event, last but 1 in the second, but it was fun :D

There was even another mk1 in one of the events (can't remember which now) who fared slightly better than me - but then his car was better
