Re: MR2 TRIP TO LE MANS 10th JUNE 2008 - AMAZING TRIP!!!!

Anyone want a ticket for this who hasn't got one already?

I was going, but can no longer afford the petrol so my parking/camping pass, booking for the hotel etc is all going spare if anyone knows someone who wants one?

wassup aaron thought you had forgotten about us :) Nah - just ran out time to browse four car forums per day ;) Anyway - the damage was fairly minimal once we got down to it (they'd just stuffed rubbish into a few config fields in the database that was stopping it from working properly - whic...

MR2ROC Hacked and.. gone.. hopefully IMOC is immune..

Just thought I'd post up here and let you know; Half an hour ago or so someone reporting themselves as "Hussain X" of "Iraq hackeRs" managed to get into MR2ROC (somehow) and: a) Disable the admin pages b) Disable the site c) Deface the site to link to www.islamweb.net Now we run ...

Ekona is Dan Morgan - so he's already on the list ;) (And we haven't persuaded him to buy another '2 yet, so he'll be in the plastic fantastic)

Me, I'm Aaron Brailsford..

Ok - put me down for this one, Mark's persuaded me ;)

Is it too early to book the camping at the chateau as well, or should we also be doing that?

I'm easily confused... (I managed to book the hotel at Maidstone, though)

Re: Expanding Pistons

I hope you or your builder will be measuring them properly (with a set of verniers) before touching your block  Obviously. Just checking  Horrible visions of you with a plastic ruler and a honing tool... ;) Bore and piston sized are linked end of. Who fits a small piston into a big ...

Re: Expanding Pistons

The skirt was measured at 86. However that is using a ruler. I don't have fancy measuring tools like the owner of that hand does lol. The box and the wrapping for the rings say 87 so it's got to be 87. I hope you or your builder will be measuring them properly (with a set of verniers) before touchi...

Odd - I know there are quite a few 1999 Mk2's, and certainly the odd late-registered 2000.. but 2001 is well into Mk3 territory :?

Re: Bike Rack for MK3

Thule also make a boot rack.. The entire back end of the car is basically plastic (there's nothing under that big back bumper save for the crash bar, and it doesn't actually rest on that at all), so I wouldn't like to trust attaching a 'normal' bike rack to it myself. This was discussed recently ish...

Re: my turbo vs. Corvette ZR1

The modern corvettes can handle. The thing is there is no in between with the yanks. The suspension is either crap or track day only! So on a uk road with track only suspension (very stiff) the car would bounce off the road lol. I wouldn't say no if someone wanted to give me one, that's for sure. (...

I thought they were meant to come with a sheet of accurate (and I mean accurate) measurements for your machinist to use?

I thought it still had leaf springs and a live axle at the back.. so they haven't learnt that much, if that's the case..

Told you someone would be about soon enough. Patrick you think you could save the engine, even after a compressor wheel has been through it.. Your brave! :) I see a sheared off exhaust wheel, but not a compressor wheel... (or did I misread a post? probably!) The head looks a bit beat, but not too b...

AE86 Trueno, is what you're thinking of..

I'd say the Mk2 MR2 is what it is - a Grand Tourer from the 1990's ;)

Re: Uprated engine mounts??

Cheaper alternative, widely used: http://home.comcast.net/~kirkosaurus2/MR2_urethane_inserts.html Most of the turbo roadsters are running the Mk3 inserts with no problems other than a slightly greater amount of vibrations, but nothing huge. Many NA Mk3's running with them in the US, too, and Mk1's, ...
