[Mk2] [Turbo] Speed sensor wiring -sorted
Hi, my Speedo isn't working, Rev2 Turbo with factory LSD. I've checked the wiring and I don't have 12v feed to the sensor. Wire colours are: Black/yellow Brown Purple I know the brown is ground I believe the black/yellow should be 12v from ECU/ign which leaves purple as feed to dash. Q.1 Have I got ...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Alternative crank shaft pulley? - Aircon removed
Has anyone found an alternative crankshaft pulley from a different Toyota? I have the harmonic damping one with 2 pulleys, but have deleted my Aircon so only need a single pulley. Engine is out of car, I'm having a nightmare getting the pulley bolt undone and might damage the pulley removing it, if ...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Using Aircon pipework for water intercooler.
After fitting a bigger intercooler and deleting my Aircon it occurred to me that I could have used the aircon pipework and matrix as the basis for a water to air intercooler.
Has anyone done this??

Replacing Turbocharger
My CT26 is on its last legs, Rev 2 with aftermarket intercooler, decat exhaust, intake and FCD and boost controller. Q. Am I better off fitting a CT20B or getting my CT26 rebuilt and upgraded? My ambition is to get to 280HP. But can only afford turbo so doing it in slow steps (I've only had the tubb...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rear brake pad dropped out. One for experts
Disc is 21.6 mm
( Rev 2)
My BGB is for a Rev 1 which says 15 mm anyone know what a Rev 2 minimum is?
I compared the yellow stuff to a Pagid and if anything the dowel is shorter on the Pagid so I think I can rule out the pads.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Rear brake pad dropped out. One for experts
Hi all, Got a bit of an unusual problem - rear brake started to sound metal on metal so I naturally thought wear indicators were rubbing. When I checked it out the inner pad had come out of its guides and was sat at an angle and had worn away into a wedge shape. I'm running yellow stuff pads on oem ...

Re: What size lower engine mount for a rev1 turbo? Are they worth it? Including poll
I was under my Rev2 turbo tonight so I stuck a digital caliper across the I/D of the forward mount which read 84mm.
(I assume there's a bit of a lead to get the bush started)
Hope this helps

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Stuck in 5th and dumped gearbox oil
The box is coming out and going to Bexhill Gearboxes for recon.
I've had this car for nearly 10 years and although it's only done 90k quite a few of those have been on trackdays.

I figure it's worth fixing properly.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Stuck in 5th and dumped gearbox oil
Thanks for the replies guys. I just got a chance to get under it and yes 5th has pushed it's way out of the side of the box. Can I get a new cover plate for the box and 5th gear assembly or is it new box time? Timing is impeccable, it's supposed to be in the spray shop on Saturday, I don't know if I...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Stuck in 5th and dumped gearbox oil
Can anyone help? My rev2 turbo was cruising at 65mph in 5th gear, I went to change down and the gear lever wouldn't move, I let the clutch up and tried again and managed to force it out. I Nursed it home using the remaining gears all of which are fine. It refuses to go into 5th I've got transmission...

Re: Has anyone run full slicks?
I've run slicks at several airfield days. rev2 turbo with minor mods (+30BHP) No rollcage requests but best check with the organiser. I was very concerned about the extra Gs causing oil starvation but couldn't upset the engine despite my best efforts, all has remained healthy. had it for 9 years now...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] 3sgte Clear cam gear cover
I don't want to pee on anyones fire but perspex
(pmma) in an engine bay is not going to last too long, any fumes from fuel and oil will attack the perspex causing crazing
(lots of tiny cracks) which makes the mat'l look opaque

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] error code 52 (knock)
you might want to fit a boost gauge and I expect a FCD, imho your exhaust system will be giving you extra boost, happened to me and I've seen it on others.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] error code 52 (knock)
Basic stuff, but don't know your car.
.
.
Have you reset the ECU to clear the error code
(and ignition retard)?
Have you got any mods that allow overboost?
bleed/grainger etc, have you de-catted the exhaust?
& if any of the above do you have a Fuel Cut Defender?
