Good timing or what...
I ended up keeping hold of the car for a while longer over Summer.
However now that my Turbo MX-5 is nearing the end of its rebuild, I was thinking about putting this up for sale again to see if theres any interest.
Chris - I'll PM you.
To confirm - Red & Black stitched Wheel and Gearknob are present and correct as per correct UK Rev 5 spec, as is the rest, and wheels, spoiler etc etc...
Car still available...
This really could do with being off my drive in the next few weeks... I'm listening, if anyone wants to come see and make a cash offer....
It honestly must be one of the best looked after N/A's about.
Hi All, regrettably need to get rid of this now. Its a really, really lovely car, known to some members on here - when I viewed it, I had to buy it, as I didn't think I'd find another like it. Toyota MR2 2.0 GTi 16v Revision 5. Overall fantastic condition, far belying its miles, with excellent detai...
Looks OEM but no promises. Wll PM you prices tomorrow. Where in Yorkshire are you? Your a star. I'm just up the road between Leeds/Wakey. I searched a while back for an 'sbits' website but found nothing, do you operate any kind of sales operation? Or just a garage/unit? I'd come down for a nosey ro...
http://thumbsnap.com/t/knAsStYt.jpg As above. Is this a standard shifter or not, can anyone tell? I recall it being something different possibly when I bought the car. There is a fair amount of slop in it, the nylon cup, and also the rose joints. Is the Nylon cup replaceable? Where might one buy on...
Tough call to make mate. Did you always daily drive your mx-5s? What kind of mod's did you go with? For the most part, yes, they were my only cars, did a lot of miles. The Mk1 (the one I loved to bits) had loads done to it, wheels, exhaust, engine stuff, interior bits, roll bar, suspension all rebu...
they cost a whopping £450 each, for a valve that is operated by remote control. 'exhaust dumpers' as theyre known in the USA, are a lot cheaper than that if I remember rightly. 2 min googling brings up - http://www.dmhperformance.com/ecutout.htm for instance. Sure I've seen manually operated ones (...
Had the chance at last to get some free time during daylight! Gave the car a thorough was, winter has really taken its toll. Cleaned up lovely and had a wee drive out with the missus for tea. It definitely is a 'special', feeling car, it's the everyday commuting that's spoiling it in a way. Trip out...
Cheers lads, lots to think about. I've spent hours daydreaming about what to do recently (I'm actually in the first instance, currently hunting out something to use as a commuting car, I love a good sheddy bargain for £500)! Ref Toyota / Mazda - I'm not at all interested in which is faster on paper ...
Last summer I bought this (Edit - did have a photo linked but forum rules wont let me! '99 Rev 5 sonic shadow, FYI, bleonged to 'jonny c' iirc ) From a known forum member on here. A proper solid, well kept car. I'm currently in two minds whether to keep it or not, let me explain - Previously I had M...
Hi Guys - I was just about to ask a similar question - did my clutch a few weeks ago and the front mount was fecked (Just like the original poster). I'm about to buy some Poly inserts - but like a turkey I forgot to measure the mount. Which of the two Diameters do I need, Revision 5 N/A UK car? 79mm...
Don't have it 'waxoyled', its an inferior product. Have it properly treated, and sealed using something by dinitrol or the like. Also anyone who claims they can turn the job around in a day is not doing it properly, it takes time - drying time, curing time etc, not just man hours. Its not a hard job...
As above, slipping like a good'un now after 123k miles.
Is there a generaly 'preferred' brand?
Exedy on eurocarparts at £85 minus 25% at the moment looks fine to me unless anyone will tell me otherwise.
Any other obvious bits to change while box is out?
Cheers!
Hi Guys - Not exactly a prolific poster on this forum, but as a new MR2 driver I thought I'd share. It is that time of year again, the last big run out of the year, the Yorkshire Big Breakfast at Specialist Cars of Malton. Sunday October 14th 2012 will see thousands of drivers meet at Malton from 8....
Mk2 N/A. Showed signs of failing yesterday, packed up this morning on way to work, spotted it and managed to limp homeon battery power. Took a day off work. Luckily I live close to a great motor factors so walked up and collected a brand new one. Old one is unbolted, tensioner off, pivot bolt out et...
Excellent, thanks guys. I assumed there'd be somewhere useful to tee off. Ref the sandwich plates - there ok but from experience, leaks are pretty common. Also, the bottom of the engine is not the most useful place to get your data on, I'm not that bothered about the temp or pressure in my oil filte...
Hi guys, had my Rev 5 N/a for a couple of months now, getting along with it well so far. One thing I am missing from previous cars is any way of monitoring Oil pressure and Temp - from experience, its by far the best way of gauging the health of the engine, and judging when it is truly warmed up. Wh...
