sadly i'd forgotten he was talking about a misfiring engine, which is the problem I had when I changed the plugs(i'd forgotten that too lol) which would explain why my car felt quicker I guess
found a coupla other articles while I was trying to find this 1 that might be of interest on the subject, take them as you will, personally I think the'claims' in the denso 1 are a little hard to believe

Your car was misfiring because your plugs were old.Fitting Iridiums did the same thing that a set of
£6 copper Denso or NGK plugs would have.

No, you claimed Iridiums gave you extra response over coppers, when in fact, it was just duff old plugs.
