this isn't the original article, but it's basically a rewritten updated version
sadly i'd forgotten he was talking about a misfiring engine, which is the problem I had when I changed the plugs (i'd forgotten that too lol) which would explain why my car felt quicker I guess
found a coupla other articles while I was trying to find this 1 that might be of interest on the subject, take them as you will, personally I think the 'claims' in the denso 1 are a little hard to believe

In 14 years and two weeks of ownership of the same car I've always had oem Toyota leads. Just put on the third set (as I was getting some hesitation and missing in freezing torrential rains which gradually worsened over the last two winters) from new so they average about 114000 miles/12years a set. With that durability why choose anything other?

Your car was misfiring because your plugs were old. Fitting Iridiums did the same thing that a set of £6 copper Denso or NGK plugs would have.

No, you claimed Iridiums gave you extra response over coppers, when in fact, it was just duff old plugs.

I said that in an earlier post. in the post you're responding to, I pointed out my mistake, along with the link I said i'd supply (to an article where the author clearly states several sets of new plugs were tried before the iridiums) & also 2 more links, both for & against. I even went on to say I was sceptical about the argument 'for' on the denso link.
if you didn't understand what I've written, it's a retraction of that earlier post. if you think I need to make that more clear or you want to know my current view on the matter, then by all means say so.
do you think you can do it without sounding like Miss Marples on the case of the worn out spark plugs? :|
