Post by Toyspeed »

After years of reading and now contributing to the community I thought that, Today will be the day.
I´m a 32year old guy from Sweden. That has had my MR2 for almost 10years. It was bone stock when I got my hands on it. And now a days it’s not much that still is ;)
The plans for the car is to have a fun car both during drag, trackdays and going to the store. Not my daily driver. More of a weekend warrior.

Its a absolut blast to drive, I can tell you that.
Unfortunatly I cant put up pictures yet as I can see it.
but it´ll come soon =)

Dont know what kind of power it puts down right now.
Since we tuned it on the street and it havent seen a dyno since then.
But i will put it up on a dyno soon.
My guess is that it´ll read somewhat close to 650hp

Unfortunatly I have only made 2 passes down the dragstrip so far. And it was on the low boost. 1,5bar

I managed to do a 11,3 with 214km/h trapspeed. 60feet was only 1,85.... My best 60feet before with this car is 1,50.
Not really what I´d hoped for. But I have it tuned to 2bar.
So next time I will turn the boost up!

15 posts...
Wow. I´ll have to look around and post alittle then =)

The fastest MR2 in Sweden has run a 10.51 if i remember correctly.
Would be awesome to beat that! But the car is more built to be a trackcar then a dragcar. Cant even get good dragtires on.
On the strip today I use Mickey Thompson ET Street 275x45 17"
Cant have smaller wheels with these brakes

As soon as I pass 15 posts! I´ll post an enginebay picture for you ;)

This car isent built for show tho... So everything is not shiney and polished. The only thing that I ever polished on... Is airchannels in the cylinderhead ;)

havent really got a good shot at it yet. Only did a test and tune.
Only did 2 passes, and the best was 11.30/214km/h with 60´ of 1,85 something...

BAD tracktion and missed a gear =)

This weekend I where at of the biggest motorparks in Sweden, Mantorp Park.
First time out on the track for me. The chassi and brakes worked perfectly. Good handling both in and out of corners even with alot of power to the ground. No trouble even if I got on the throttle a little early. The rear end just smootley left the line and it was no trouble holding her. Good power on the straits also! used road tires tho.. So traction was problem on the first 3 gears..

So this is my 15:th post =)

Well. I also had some really enoying problems on the track, Some electrical glitch, That made the car sputter and throw flames everytime I took a leftturn..
After a few times on the track I noticed that everytime the car missed and bogged the handcontroll to Apexi PFC also went dead for a splitt second. And rebooted..

So it seams to be a powersupply problem to the management system.. I´m still trying to find WHERE tho...

Im so sorry for flooding the tread with posts.. Just trying to reach 15posts ;)

So this is how the enginebay looks right NOW. I have a few plans here.
But nothing big.

And now the big announcment.. I have´t told you guys about the bodywork that has been done. And I have to defend myself here. That was done almost 10years ago. When I was young and stupid =) I know the Veilside kit is the most hated kit for this car. I dont really think its THAT ugly. But I would´t go for that today if I´d do it again..

This is just a short movie.. nothing exciting. You just get a feeling of the sound of the car. And a little look of how it presents itself today!

if you have questions, Dont be affraid to ask. Or if its something you want to see pictures of

What is your turbo same size as in the garret sizes? Looks a nice engine bay. 11.3 with a missed gear and bad traction.. That's a quick mr2 :0)
