Cheapest I could find when I got some for Kirsty's car a couple of weeks back, great service (their standard free 3-5 day delivery turned up in 2 working days) and guaranteed next day is £4.95. (part numbers are DP4453 and DP4602 btw).
I can see that a case can be made for better heat dissipation and so fade resistance from bigger brakes (whether or not anyone actually needs that is subjective and down to the individual). Just changing the front brakes and so moving the brake bias fowards is the bit I don't understand. How does th...
Moving the brake bias forwards doesn't sound like the best plan though... Any situation where you could lock the fronts with standard brakes and you'll be worse off with the 'upgraded' setup
Toyota T50 (from the AE86) gearbox is a straight fit, but they're rarer than a rare thing. Supposed to be quite light and compact though with reasonable ratios out of the box. Any other ratios are even rarer and hideously expensive though. Not sure about Supra gearboxes, but you can be damn sure the...
I am not completely sure that Dave who was with Kirsty remembers all of it though as he was wandering around with the biggest glass of beer I have seen in a long while - not quite a yard but not far off! Sadly while it was very long (ooeer), it was also quite thin. Merely a pint glass I'm afraid :)
Tyres that have gone out of round (from being sat without moving for months for example) can cause massive wheel wobble at speed.
I knew a car that had duff front top mounts and that caused wheel wobble very much like an out of balance wheel, fading in and out depending on the speed you were doing.
Thinking about selling as I fancy a JZA70 :( I like the s/c but not enough power IMHO, even when pulleyed up. Bit of a change from the SC! I like my Supra, it's a big old bus but can get a decent shift on when required :) Brakes are rubbish though... EDIT... just noticed the thread resurrection. Po...
Twice in the last few days (think it was the same one!), followed it off Cromwell Avenue onto Hood Lane a few days ago (was in my mkiii Supra then) and then this evening when I was driving Kirsty's white mk1 SC on the roundabout at the end of Sankey Way... Looked very shiny!
Camp in the circuit. Houx Annexe or Le Houx Quite, bit late given its April now and they tend to be booked up by December though ;) Best bet would be to look on Ebay or somewhere like Club Arnage (if its still going!) near the time and hope to pick up some tickets. Could be interesting trying to fi...
Problem is the 205 width rears, not the radius (it might well have 16" aftermarket wheels on it, I just remember at Anglesey in Jan it had 195 width tyres all round and then shortly after 195 fronts and 205 rears).
Tom, I think you could be fighting a losing battle chasing geometry settings when Sy's car doesn't have the right size tyres on it! Stock tyres are 195/50/15 fronts and 225/50/15 rears (although a lot of people go to a 205 front to combat understeer). I doubt you'll get geometry settings off anyone ...
Well a 205/40/16 tyre is about the only thing that'll fit a 16x7.5J rim sensibly and give you the right sort of rolling radius. With those offsets the inner edge of the tyre will be about where it is now, so you shouldn't foul the suspension. The outer edge will be about a inch further out though, s...
Looks like you've got the info you need now, but that one applies to some 4AFE powered Carinas! Could be on some JDM stuff too as my EPC doesn't cover JDM models
Probably a bit late for you now, but people like Rally Design will make up stainless braided brake hoses to your spec (length, ends etc).
I'm sure the ones on my Striker worked out cheaper than most off the shelf sets too.
I think Kirsty is using these on her SC.... Yeap, they seem to work pretty well :) Good wet grip and from driving it at Oulton not what I'd call a sudden breakaway on track either. They cope with trackdays ok, they're quite grippy and soft so never going to last forever but they certainly don't des...
If you want to do trackdays best thing to do is get a quiet exhaust. Our integra type R was tested at cadwell last week at 4.5K.. made 79db! and I thought I was taking the p1$$ by choosing 4500 as 3/4 of max RPM when the Supra's redline is 7250ish ;) It got 82db, which the guy doing the noise test ...
