Re: Mk2 sidelights

Thanks, 501's it is then. Yep 501s, don't forget you can change them without taking the lenses off and risk breaking them. Pop the headlights up, remove the headlight very simple and remove/change bulb from above, little fiddly but worth it. Just to be clear we are talking about the bulbs in these l...

Mk2 sidelights

Quick question - what bulbs do the sidelights use? One of mine has blown and google doesn't throw up anything...

Yes I could just get it off and check but don't want to risk scratching the paintwork in doing so :)

Entry by 7am means leaving at 5am and waking up at 4.30am after a birthday party the night before hmmm 8)

Generally do people just get up early or stay somewhere close the night before?

p.s. anyone driving from London/along the M4?

Got mine today just fine, there was something that said I needed to pay £1.11 extra (11p plus £1 handling charge!!) but that was crossed out and it just came through the letterbox... :-k

Re: What's happened here?

Just to follow up - it happened again but this time I stopped and looked in the engine bay. Turns out the little rubber bit at the end of the throttle cable got stuck between the cable and the throttle body! #-o

What's happened here?

Was driving along yesterday and all of a sudden the car starts idling at just over 2000rpm. It was driving normally at say 1500rpm at 30mph in 4th, but as soon as I depressed the clutch or put it into neutral the idle shot up. Strange thing was that after about 10 mins (of pretty embarrassing city d...

Noob cleaning question

Apologies if this is a silly question but when you wash the car, how are you supposed to wash the engine bay lid without getting lots of soapy water in the engine?

You can get fully synthetic Castrol Edge for £30-35/4L from eurocarparts, not sure why you'd wanna use Castrol GTX...

I'm in London, £420 fully comp, import, mods declared, limited mileage with Adrian Flux. Sky were also quite competitive but nobody else (including the classic insurers) got close. Probably helps that it's my third car though.

Will be following with interest as a fellow MR2 newbie... just happened to drop mine off at Pacific Works today so if you see a yellow one there you'll know whose it is!

You definitely want a crazy bodykit and spoiler, it's what these cars are all about 8)

Re: MkII Rev 3 Key

Ordered a blank key from the nearest Toyota dealer, £10 including postage! Pleasantly surprised considering replacement keys for newer cars cost £150-200 these days.

MkII Rev 3 Key

My MkII Rev 3 Turbo came with only one key, how can I get a backup? Is it ok to order a blank key and get it cut or does it need to be coded?

It's got an aftermarket alarm with 2 fobs, but only one key. Which by the looks of things isn't the original key anyway.

Re: Do I want a rev 4 turbo t-bar?

It's worth holding out for a good one, they differ hugely in condition and price. I know it sounds sappy but you'll know when you've found the right one!

I looked around for months for a decent Rev 3+ Turbo at a sensible price and even bought another car in the meantime to keep me entertained.

Re: OEM Steering Wheel Re Covering?

Jack at Royal Steering Wheels did a wheel for one of my other cars, quality was great and leather, stitching, badges etc. are customisable to whatever you want. Very reasonable price too, around £120 iirc.

You were planning on spending £700 quid on a pair of lights?

Lol no, but would be interested in seeing what they looked like (even if they aren't road legal).
