Re: TeeBar help?

I'd be fine getting another, but hadn't seen many in that colour and didn't want to sign off on killing a beautiful classic if there was a way round it.

It's a green/blue type job, are they common or not so?

Re: TeeBar help?

It's had a heavy front ender, wings, bonnet, lights, slam panel, most likely frunk floor, inner wings, suspension.. I certainly wouldn't put that back on the road and without meaning to be rude I think you're a little insane for even considering spending money fixing it. An insurer will definitely ...

You wanna be more constructive?

If it's just the wings/bumper what's the issue?

Obviously if it's mashed the front legs up then yeah it's a no but otherwise?

TeeBar help?

Morning all, not been on in a little while (been too busy enjoying it!) But last week was unkind to me, i threw the car head first into a nasty bump with a pickup truck. The basics are that I want to be sure how viable it is to keep on the road, it's sat at an impound until the insurance sorts out, ...

Re: First MRtwo

Colour coding is on the to do list, tho i prefer the Rev3 spoiler.

I want to keep a set of spare stock parts so i can mod it slightly to showcar condition as i want but have the options of turning it back - winner.

Re: First MRtwo

Is this colour common?
And did this colour come in Rev3/4 form to allow a straight bootlid(spoiler)swap or has it had work done to make it look that way?

Re: First MRtwo

Sorry,

few specs:

K reg, 89Kmiles and fairly tidy.
Not perfect, but mechanically sound and no car of this type is perfect unless silly money is paid - but I wanted a project to make my own.

Standard pretty much everything.. even down to stereo. (which doesn't work)

First MRtwo

I've taken the plunge as soon as i found one that was realistic, but I have a couple of questions if anyone is able to answer them? This is the car: Is this spoiler normal for a Rev2?: It has 2 of these stickers one, I'm presuming it's just something a previous owner has put on for the sake of it?: ...

Re: Looking for a Mk2, what to avoid?

I'm local to a company called "BRG Developments" who do custom parts and machined CNC stuff so a replacement bracket wouldn't be too much hassle.

Re: Looking for a Mk2, what to avoid?

The fella has had enough of it, just wants it off the drive now, it's been sat a few months so not sure he'll be bothered taking pics. (buying this as a duffer and breaking if it's very poorly wouldn't leave me out of pocket since I'd keep good parts for another 2) From what I've read a starter is e...

Re: Looking for a Mk2, what to avoid?

As above, typically I would too, a good chassis can have bits stripped off it and replaced.

Re: Looking for a Mk2, what to avoid?

I've seen "doable" MR2s in the 500-750 range, but there is a hell of a lot of dross so be careful. We all like a project, its why we are on this site, but theres a project, then theres a money pit that you will just resent, where your line is is down to you as a person and what you enjoy ...

Re: Looking for a Mk2, what to avoid?

There's a couple of places that say the Rev2 has better handling parts as standard but Rev1 has a better chassis layout for feedback and road feel. PistonHeads MR2oc DriftWorx and a couple less known sites. I know £500 isn't alot but in fairness the 2 first deals that fell through were immaculate ca...
