Right so the car has just been collected. So as guessed, there is no alternator belt attached. As for the water, they are going empty it out. Erm..dont want to give too many clues, but are very recomended on this forum.

I was told it was a full tested engine, from a writen off car, and my understanding was it was a stright swop over, but just adding my turbo and exhaust parts.

They said the bearing and crank were scored, and said he would just do a bottom end rebuild, but then said the topm end had been contamintated too.

hmmm, he put all the damaged parts in the boot. Old flywheel and belt and engine mounts there. But no bearing?!
