Just odd that the same noise on the last engine was bottom end failure. We shall see if its still there when I get it back.

Right so the car has just been collected. So as guessed, there is no alternator belt attached. As for the water, they are going empty it out. Fill it up and take it for a long run to check how much is lost. As for the engine knock, this time I've been assured its not bottom end but a vibrating heat ...

Well the water tank is empty again, so must have a leak somwhere? Ive looked but cant see any signs of the belt. Unless its on a road some where? The exhaust temp light wasnt on, but come on all on a sudden with the other two warning lights. But I also have a exhaust temp gauge which doesnt appear t...

The car is being collected tomorrow. Few questions. probably very silly. 1. As you know the car was using alot of water. I have been checking the high pressure tap, which has genrally near full. But the water bottle is empty again. Should this be full, as I was told to keep it full, but a glanza own...

Garage are collecting on monday. Obviously I have no idea if oil cooler was changed. Would this be part of the engine when fitted as my recipe doesn't say oil cooler.

Well a friend has just mention this to me about fitting old turbo. So I phoned turbo technics. The said this most certainly wont be the case. I also evotune which has just built my friends galanza which is running amazingly, they said they would put money on the oil cooler not being changed. The onl...

I was told it was a full tested engine, from a writen off car, and my understanding was it was a stright swop over, but just adding my turbo and exhaust parts.

They said the bearing and crank were scored, and said he would just do a bottom end rebuild, but then said the topm end had been contamintated too.

hmmm, he put all the damaged parts in the boot. Old flywheel and belt and engine mounts there. But no bearing?!

The garage have been told, they said to take it up on saturday. But with all these warning lights, its probably not wise to drive the 38 miles there. If it happend to be manifold gasket, why did I just pay £1460 to fix the same problem?
Also gaskets have been changed.

I occasionally feel flat spots. Particularly when coming off a round about and picking up speed, it feels like it skips a few beats then its ok. Also in other similar circumstances.

Well when I took the car to the garage with the original enigne, they stright away said it was bottom end failure. Then new engine dropped in, and its was only when I was under the bonnet checking the water, I heard the dreaded noise again. The noise is at its worst at 2krpm, if you rev any more the...
