Re: start/move car with radiator removed (few meters)
Not had a chance to start yet unfortunately. I have the radiator already and most of the coolant from before so thought i would change the rad and coolant at the same time as none of that has been changed while I've had the car.

Re: Passenger air vent removal
Dash out might be the only way. Is it pretty much remove steering wheel, plastic under steering wheel, clocks, stereo center console, glove box, center arm rest bit, glove box and a few bolts? Is the top part of the dash clipped, if so is it those daft plastic clips the rest of the interior is held ...

Passenger air vent removal
I need to remove the passenger vent, when its closed and the blower is on there is a whistling noise, i believe the felt on the flap is letting air to pass, i was going to see if a line of silicone or sticking some felt on would help. I've removed the glove box, have a right angled screwdriver but t...

Cheers.
Fingers crossed that the Condenser bolt is easier to get to with the rad removed.

start/move car with radiator removed (few meters)
I am going to be replacing the radiator and aircon rad. I have a gravel drive so it would be useful to pull the front of the car into the garage to do the work, i was hoping to drain the rad and remove the rad one weekend and replace/refill the next. Would i be ok running the car with the rad off to...

Re: I'm trying to save this mr2!!
Been along time since i tested the o2 sensor, looked at my old post. http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=170088&highlight= With E1 and TE1 connected and a voltmeter connected between VF1 and E1, run at 2500RPM when its nice and warm and it should fluctuate between 0-5v or more like 1-4v...

Re: I'm trying to save this mr2!!
Normal idle is about 850/900 rpm.
Resetting the ECU causes the idle to be off for the first 10 minutes, found it can do the drop down to 500rpm so let it run for over 10 mins before changing the idle after resetting the ecu.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Best all round speaker setup
Probably abit much for in car audio.
The DSP on the Soundblaster is fantastic. Only increased the sub bass on the equ a little but the bass boost within the DSP does a fantastic job at pretty much everything i have chucked at it.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Best all round speaker setup
I have the 6.5 fronts components, tweaters, 10" sub in the box behind drivers seat, two amps driving them all. The thing that has made a massive difference is i now have a Sound Blaster E5. Phone connects to that via bluetooth, that connects to the headunit. Its a DAC/AMP but the difference it ...

Re: Exhaust performance - Japspeed vs Mongoose
In a similar predicament to yourself, i have a PP Dep 2 Std on the car, sounds really nice and ear friendly on a motorway. It sounds/looks like the y section is starting to go. I could get it repaired but there's a crack in one of the tailpipes. I also have a Japspeed in the garage. Choices are eith...

Re: Gear stick not returning to centre position
I had this on my 1st MR2, it was near 10 years ago so my memory might be a little off.
At the gearbox end there was a cube that the selector arms pivoted on, removed that, cleaned it up.
Or something along those lines.

Fantastic news and good luck.
I need some work doing on the MR2 so hopefully see you in the coming months and as you say gives me an excuse to experience the Drift Limits while waiting.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Exhaust fabrication
I had the na mongoose modded to fit my rev2 tubby when I had the conversion. With mongoose the boost dropped sooner than it should have for a rev2. Went to the departure std, boost spool was better and top end boost was better. The mongoose sounded nice though and wasn't loud. Didn't take much for t...

Re: Rev counter incorrect reading - fix
Same fix for the Speedo, did it last year, followed the youtube clip. If you look in my previous posts (there aren't many) i posted about the speedo with some details in. My speedo is spot on now comparing to the GPS, that's with 17" wheels. I would recommend doing the speedo and tacho at the s...

Re: New Gear knob - Looking for recommendations
Thanks all, i saw the refurbs from Rhon but couldn't see anything after 2012. The one from revolve automotive in Cheshire looks nice as well.
I spotted the TRD one when looking around, nearly pushed the button but still like the feel of the standard shape.
Is Rhon available via a PM?

Hi All, Recently had the joy of my rev counter not working, it was completely incorrect, idle was about 100 revs, 70mph was around 2k , you get the picture. Thought i would share. Anyway, simple ish fix, just need to replace two capacitors on the tacho. These are the capacitors i purchased Maplin co...

New Gear knob - Looking for recommendations
My standard gear knob needs replacing, the coating is coming away and feels horrible.
Any recommendations for something close to stock type of shape?

Re: Reducing cockpit exhaust drone
I know this is old but did anyone else try filling the area from the boot to the cabin? Reason i ask is my exhaust drones on motorway runs but last long journey we did the boot was full including a duvet and the exhaust drone was gone. Unfortunately my phone battery had died as i would have like to ...

Re: Avcr splicing wires into ECU
I used positaps to connect into the ecu wires. Part ex-110m
Bought from eBay, easy and clean connection without damaging the wire. They are used on bikes a lot so designed to be strong.

OBD1 Bluetooth device
Hi all, Just wondering if anyone here purchased the OBD1 bluetooth reader and if anyone with a healthy REV2 Turbo is willing to share some settings. I would like to see if my AFM seems out at all and wondering if comparing the below readings would help get an idea of what a healthy AFM output should...
