Re: Forged pistons hitting oil squirter jets?

:-s Apparently these look like a new design! JE offers 2 different types of skirt designs. Full Round, and FSR. This is the newer FSR (Forged Side Relief) skirt style. JE is slowly transitioning all of their applications over to this superior design. The FSR forging allows unmatched strength while s...

Re: Forged pistons hitting oil squirter jets?

Interesting- I've not seen that design of skirt before... You may need to modify your oil squirters slightly to accomodate the pistons, it looks like you've got room to rotate the nozzle round a bit and create some clearance :-k :thumleft: This was what i was thinking and seems to be the way most o...

Have you got them in the right way round?

I have the largest cut outs in the crown on the left as you look at it from the cambelt end which i assume is right Peter?

Forged pistons hitting oil squirter jets?

:( Just building up a Rev2 turbo with forged rods and pistons. Put the first piston in and the strengthening web in the piston is hitting the oil squirter jet just before BDC! The pistons are JE ones. Has anybody else had any problems with these? It seems very common with Wiseco pistons judging by t...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rev1 to Rev2 to Rev3 conversion!

I don't think that a rev 3 pump fits a rev 2 block. There probably isn't much point in making one fit either. The bottom end determines the belt you need. I fell foul of forum speak and bought a rev 3 belt, lost some cash on that ;) Also, idler pulleys and tensioner bolt need to be from a rev 2 ass...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rev1 to Rev2 to Rev3 conversion!

From experience, it's a rev 2 belt you need. I have pics of the rev 3 belt not fitting. Cams on rev 2 and 3 have the same number of teeth, the difference is on the water pump where the rev 2 has one more tooth. That makes the rev 3 belt one tooth too short. :thumleft: Thats good info! Not heard tha...

Re: Big brake kit problems! Help!

Im going to take jus the carrier off and check the fitment! Im also goin to check it has rev2+ brake calipers on the rear, although it is a rev2 so dont see why not? Failing that im thinking of sanding 1mm of each rear pad using a flat block and some 80 gritt paper! If the disks are 2mm thicker tha...
